Use any one but this place!Cons:To start they advertise the car rental is at the airport and it is not! Once you walk around and call they tell you that you need to take a van to the rental lot. Witch took about 45 mins of waiting and the ride to the lot. The rental was supposed to be $12 a day but once we got there after all the fees the b.s. insurance ( bc they didn't except my personal car insurance witch covers rentals) I ended up paying $48 a day. I never write reviews but trust me when I say to just use the main rental car places at the airport it may be a little more you think your paying but you will save a bunch in the long run.Reviewed 9 May 2016

Cons:Las facilidades no tienen estacionamiento .Me alquilaron un carro con un retrovisor roto, me lo llevé así pero luego me percaté que la visibilidad era pobre ,aum Ed ntsndo el riesgo de accidente. Estuve un incidente que me hizo pensar la forma de evaluar los carros , mi hija condujo mi carro personal ,al no tener estacionamiento lo hi X o al frente que ademad esta la carretera en malas condiciones.Mi hija al dar reversa tocó el bumper lateral de un carro de alquiler ,y el empleado a cargo la culpo de un rayazo que visiblemente era ilógico que fue causado por el toque ya que mi carro es rojo y el rayazo era blanco ,no había abolladuras ni nada ,pero el empleado insistía que fue mi hija.Esperamos la policía aprox.2 horas,el agente evaluo y refirió que no había daño y que por la posición de los carro no había sido mi hija, el policía retiró con los dedos la pintura Blanca del vehículo del local y se lo señaló al empleado,gerente y supervisor.Asi que cuidado pues no me habían anotado el cristal roto No se cual era el propósito.Reviewed 20 Dec 2019

Cheap car rental, horrible service and NOT at theCons:I rented a car on my trip to Puerto Rico and specifically wanted something I could pick up and drop off at the airport. When my reservation was confirmed, and it stated that it was "at the airport", I was content because I got a steal. Well, when I arrived, I realized that I had to call for a shuttle. Okay, no big deal, I thought. Until I waited an HOUR for the shuttle to pick me up and I had called them FIVE times. On top of that, the shuttle then drove about 20-25 minutes away from the main city to a small town and I was taken inside where I waited another 35-40 minutes as the workers just sat there and really did nothing. This was a hassle because when I had to drop my car off I had to drive 25 minutes beyond the airport to drop it off. Terrible customer service and I would not rent from them again.Reviewed 11 Apr 2016

cost more than expectedPros:First things first, the shuttles are on a regular schedule, but knowing that you're in the correct place to catch it was not so clear. The staff was helpful, giving us maps, directions, and suggestions. As others have mentioned the cost was about 3 times what was quoted.(quoted $106 paid $289) There is a lot of extra fees and taxes that we were not used to or expecting. I don't know how much the tolls cost because we added the ezpass thing but only having gone through toll booths four times we were charged $30. Might be a flat fee per day but not sure. Then there was the insurance which added $120 for the week because we needed proof that our insurance would transfer over. However, after experiencing the driving still in the area and the damage to local cars, I think I was money well spent.Cons:Lots of added unexpected fees and taxesReviewed 8 Feb 2017

Pros:The customer service was extremely four and we truly did not like any part of the interaction with Payless car rental.Cons:The customer service representative was extremely rude. We waited literally an hour and a half in line because every customer was taking about a half an hour to process. We were asked to present our entire car insurance policy to the representative in order to rent the car. No one brings their entire insurance policy with them, and they required it which was why the line took so long. I finally had to call my car insurance back in the states and have them send me my entire plan so that I could show the representative. They also forced us to buy a tollway pass for 60 extra dollars because they lied and said that we couldn’t pay with cash to get through the tolls. Horribly rude customer service repsPros:Normally a car rental experience is pretty simple.. you stop, get your car and you are off. This place was horribly slow and the employees are very very rude. When we landed, the info said that the shuttle stops every 10 minutes. It didn't come for half an hour and when it did, they never stopped. I ran after the van and the driver kept going. We finally took another company for transportation. The place was not busy, however the people there seemed irritated. The employees were very rude to me and to other customers. When we dropped the Car off, my wife got on the shuttle and they were waiting for me. I told the man that was signing me out I needed to hurry and he told me "I will just have to wait". He was extremely rude and took his "sweet little time". It took almost a half hour just to drop the car off. This company is horrible. I suggest renting from a place near the AirportCons:The shuttle took a very long time. The employees were very rude. They did not have good customer service and were very slow. Never again!Pros:Nothing good about them. I saw several who refused to rent the car from payless and left. Terrible customer service.Cons:Took a long time to get the car. Overcharged me (changed the total amount from what I was promised at booking) and was told to read the fine print better. On top of it, they charged an extra $200 as 'deposit" but would not account for it in the contract. Not sure if I will get it back. When I called from the airport, they never answered the phone and when I mentioned at their office, I was told that they were too busy to answer the phone. They lied about that I cannot get on the road without a mandatory toll package and I was forced to buy it and wont refund when I called their office the same day I rented the car. Terrible rental. Never again!!!!Pros:I liked that I was able to drive around town.Cons:We didn’t get the car we had originally reserved online. They gave us what seemed like their worst car on the lot. It was given to us without having been washed. It was also very smelly on the inside. And very dirty inside. As far as driving was concerned, it pulled to the right as you drove which meant it needed to be aligned. Even the brakes were bad. When we complained, there was little concern or effort to better accommodate us from the agent helping us. We were even hit with surprise fees. We should have returned the car and rented from someone else but time did not permit. We will never rent from this place again. Just terrible!Reviewed 7 Apr 2018

Pros:The service in general is okay. Short commute from airport to location. As do all retal places they have fees and the employee are trying to get you to have an upcharge (normal) just say no thank you. They have new cars my car had less than 2k miles of use. The toll in Puerto Rico as in some states is electronic with a sticker. ONLY If you have a car in the island you may add funds in the tolls to your account this does not apply in the puente Moscoso toll. Payless car rental has a daily fee for the toll regadless of uses, other places have the fee plus the cost of the toll. Fyi if you do not pay the toll it is a fee 100$ per toll + cost of toll.
