Pros:Staff was friendly at the counter but the agency was horrible. Ended up having to go to another vendor to obtain a vehicle.Cons:This is one of two car rental agencies that insists that you pay for the insurance policy even though you have other comprehensive coverage - this effectively doubles the cost of the rental. This was not apparent on the website. The staff person I dealt with indicated that it was present in "very very fine print." Both I and the person ahead of me who also appeared to be a seasoned traveler then had to make alternate arrangements. This cost me an additional two hours at the airport when I had a long drive to make after a long flight.Reviewed 23 Oct 2019

Cons:There were hidden fees involved with this rental that were not listed when I made the reservation. I used a credit card that included rental insurance, but when I went to pick up the rental was told I had to use their expensive insurance.Reviewed 18 Sep 2019

Pros:Drop off was super easy, but pick up took a hour and I did not wait in a line.Cons:The terms of agreement for Dollar (Germany) mandate that you purchase their insurance - if you used a credit card for your rental. Too Many Hidden CostsCons:Once we got to the location there were an abundance of extra costs not priced into the rental upfront. This doubled the cost of our rental price. RECOMMENDATION: don't book rental cars through KAYAK!!!Reviewed 19 Aug 2018

Wrong VehiclePros:The pick-up and drop-off was seamless.Cons:We ordered an "Opel Vivaro or similar" 7 passenger 3 bag minivan but received a Ford Smax which is classified as a 7 passenger 1 bag. MUCH SMALLER! As a result, we had to get a second vehicle.Reviewed 31 Jul 2018

Germany rental for two weeksPros:Car was a Hertz, new RenaultCons:The very small print that the guy at the counter put in front of my, saing that I need to take full CDW despite my Wolrd Elite Master card. That was a pain to start our vacation with, since I spent 3 hours to argue and in the end I had to call several times in Canada to have the bank transfer me to the insurance company to have a letter specifically stating that the credit card in hand is covering me and not someone else with the CDW. Third world experience in Germany, I would not expect that, but Hertz seemed to want badly every one of my dollars. Will no longer rent with Dollar/Hertz and will say around me the story so people are aware.Reviewed 11 Jun 2018

RobbedCons:Was told online would be around 130 euros the insurance offered on the website was also invalid. The lady at hertz said I had to pay 450 euros including deposit, I asked her to confirm that price 3 times. I then got a receipt for 734 euros which was all of my money. I therefore asked to be refunded (Friday morning) and am still waiting for my money. Am stuck in Germany with no money and no transport very disappointed and won’t be returning to hertz again. Reservation means nothingPros:That we finally received a car.Cons:I made a reservation weeks in advanced yet the day of, there weren't any cars available due to events in the city. I'm sure the cars got rented out at a higher rate to walk in customers that did have a reservation. We had to wait at the airport for 3.5 hours after 2 long flights. And we weren't the only ones. A lot of people were in the same boat as us. If I ever use hertz/dollar again I won't bother making a reservation as it means nothing, apparently. Also, our final bill was more than quoted and we were not notified of the early closing time at the drop off location. Although, this is not surprising as the agents at the pickup location could barely do their jobs due to so many upset customers, waiting.Reviewed 28 Sep 2017

Terrible experiencePros:Dropping the car offCons:They forced us into over priced insurance we did not need or they would not give us the car.
