Pros:Very helpful and friendly staff in both Edinburgh and GlasgowCons:Did not fully understand the daily limit on mileage allowance, which resulted in a small surcharge at the end - did not impact on my overall positive experienceReviewed 9 May 2019

Worst car hiring experience- warn others awayCons:The address was wrong, we got a taxi to the first address and when we were told buy the company there they had moved. We attempted to hail a taxi and failed as we were stranded in an industrial park. We rang Easirent and explained. We asked to be collected from the area as it was not far to drive (8 mins) but too far with bags, they refused and told us to get a shuttle back to the airport and then get another shuttle bus to them. When we finally arrived there was 3 staff at the counter having a laugh over how hungover they were feeling from the night before. No one apologized for sending us to the wrong area or tried to reimburse us for getting a taxi out there. Instead they went on to double the price we had already paid, we paid €63 online and then we’re asked for another €30 as I was under 25years, and then €35 for insurance not including tyres and windscreen or €41 full cover. As we were only taking the car for one evening I opted for the first cover, already annoyed at the hidden costs not highlighted when ordering online. It took over an hour in waiting time for them to clean the car even though it was already ordered. When we dropped it back the next morning because I had not bought the more expensive insurance they tried to force us to buy a new front tyre. There was a mark on the front tyre that one of the employees was sugggesting was a split in the tyre. We couldn’t believe he was trying to get even more money out of us, and at this stage were outraged by our entire experience wit them. When the manager came over to see what was wrong he went to check the tyre and agreed that we could not be charged, it was a mark on the tyre. There was no damage caused. The whole experience was awful. I would never recommend anyone to go there. I would say if you do, take a photograph of every inch of the car before you leave to help cover yourself.Reviewed 30 May 2018

Easirent doesn't care about customer service.Pros:I wish I could think of something to write.Cons:As I waited in line to drop off the vehicle, my friends left my GPS and CDs in the console between the seats. When I contacted Easirent the same day to inform them, they said they would recover it for me so I can get it shipped back to me, but after repeated follow-up e-mails and phone calls, they won't respond. Easirent is the WORST rental company I've ever dealt with. I would NEVER recommend Easirent to anyone! All they care about is getting your money... there is NO customer service! I'm hoping Kayak can intervene somehow and advocate for me.Reviewed 29 Jun 2017

Wrong car, poor condition, extra chargeesPros:The staff were friendly and likeable. Pickup and drop-off were fairly easy and convenient to the airport.Cons:I booked a luxury class car for 9 days in Scotland. Upon arrival, I was informed that no luxury class car was available, but for the same price, I'd be "upgraded" to a mini-van. Well, I didn't want or need a mini-van, but wasn't given any other option. I was told it was the only available automatic transmission car. In addition, I had to pay a large fee that wasn't explained or made clear on the kayak site. It was 100.00 pounds, so about $130.00. I still don't know if that was a legitimate fee, but it was unexpected. Also the car rental company insisted I carry expensive insurance, or else take a deposit for the total value of the car, more than 27,000.00 pounds - obviously untenable. So a lot of hidden and expensive fees. Lastly, the mini-van was in poor condition, with dents and damage. It was dirty, and had only half a tank of fuel. Additionally, the nav system was all but useless, forcing me to buy a phone to use for navigation.Reviewed 24 Feb 2017

False charge for insurancePros:The car was fine and the price was as well.Cons:I specifically advised that my Amex card and personal insurance covered me. The agent understood and agreed. But I discovered I was charged the insurance anyway when the charge showed on the bill--which I didn't get until it was emailed to me 6-8 hours into the rental. I was wrongly charged for the insurance. I sent an email to Easirent, but to date have heard nothing. Therefore I would never rent from this company again, nor recommend it to anyone. Still hoping for an attempt by the company to make it right.Reviewed 14 Aug 2017

Pros:The price appeared to be very low, however then we realized that it did not include any insurance. The system was down when we picked up the car. We decided for the option without insurance in order to benefit from the low price. However, the price with full insurance was charged from our credit card. We claimed the mistake. The manager agreed to refund us the difference. However, the refund has not arrived at our account yet - even after 7 working days (do not know what is the reason). Need to contact the manager again! hope we can get the money back! By the way, the rental station is not in the airport, but 5 minutes drive or 30 minutes walk from the airport, not really convenient.Reviewed 10 May 2017

Bait and switchPros:The car was great. Clean, worked well and no trouble. Staff had a sense of urgency and moved fast to help.Cons:You are forced to buy insurance if you don't have a $25,000+ limit on your credit card!!! This and other hidden charges immediately double or triple the price and make you feel scammed. If you purchase the insurance online, it doesn't cover you!!! This bait-and-switch tactic of offering a low price online and then forcing you to pay extra when you are captive to the easirent counter with luggage in hand and family waiting in the rain is completely unscrupulous. The Vauxhall Corsa was brand new, so I had to drive to a filling station straight away and fill the tank (inconvenient).Reviewed 25 May 2017

Pros:The car worked and was cheap.Cons:Drop off and pick up was incredibly slow, the shuttle runs like once an hour and the staff is in no hurry either. Literally took me 90 min to pick up and drop off, and there were no lines to wait in. If it weren't for the incredibly cheap rates, there's no way this place would be in business. The service was really lacking, the rental office looks like an old shed, and the staff is dishonest, trying to charge you for "damage" to the vehicle that clearly was there when you picked up the car. Definitely not worth the hassle to save a few bucks.Reviewed 10 Oct 2019

An infant company with plenty of organizational issuePros:The Volvo was a great car, every efficient. Return and car inspection very good and prompt.Cons:The directions and transportation to the rental car location from the airport was the worst we've ever experienced. No indication of Easement on the transfer buses. The phone number to contact was erroneous. Waited 40 minutes for the shuttle bus. Over 1 hour before wait as the rental location to complete the paperwork, then, another 1/2 before a car was provided. Several GPS's could not locate Easement in either Edinburgh or Newbridge. Over 2 hours from airport pickup location to finally driving off with the rental. The car size originally reserved was not available, had to upgrade.Reviewed 1 May 2018

Will never use easirent again!Pros:Pretty much only the car itself.Cons:The fact that it went from costing $93 to $350 because... a)we we're 10 minutes late and had to pay for an upgraded car because they gave ours away. b) they told me I had to buy their insurance or put a $20,000 hold on my card. c)made me pay $95 deposit to bring back the car full of fuel and gave it to me completely empty d) were really rude when I suggested I just book again on kayak for a cheaper rate and they said "if you try to do that we will not give you a car, we will turn you away"...worst car rental experience I've ever had.Reviewed 15 Jun 2017

Did not rentCons:No counter at the airport, but we were told a bus would come by and take us to the location. Tried to call Easirent and no answer. Waited 45 minutes and finally took other transportation to Easirent location. Very difficult to find and very small sign at location. Easirent employee was walking across lot to the counter and told us "he would see what he could do" regarding the vehicle we had reserved. Several deep in the Que by then and both clients at counter were clearly upset with transaction. Sorry, but bad experience.Reviewed 5 Jun 2017
