Pros: Excellent location. Very close to a pier with ferry stops, an easy walk to the San Marco area as well as Rialto Bridge. Our room was a junior suite, which slept 4 and was quite large. Marble floor, upholstered walls, artwork on the walls, it was very nice. Front door of the hotel is right on a canal, which meant the private boat we took to the airport was able to pull right up to the front door and pick us up, like a limo ride on water. Plenty of good restaurants in the area where the locals eat. Staff were a mixed bag. Soome were inattentive, but there was one dark-haired woman who was just fabulous. So nice, full of information and suggestions. I wish I had gotten her name. She worked the day shift. Breakfast was standard italian fare.

Pros: For people who like to discover Venice for some days, this hotel is perfectly located. Nearby a Vaporetto station with even a line which brings you directly to the airport. Within some minutes you can easily walk to Rialto bridge or Marcus square. And if you are hungry a great place to eat is just 50 meters away located at campo d'angelo - try restaurant 'acqua pazza'. The hotel is very charming and our room was just great. Fantastic to stay in this 'palazzo-room', especially the beautiful big Murano-lustre was just unbelievable! We loved to stay at this hotel with only less beds.

Pros: This is a gorgeous renovation of a historic palazzo done with great taste and design. The staff is outstanding, kind, helpful, efficient and go above and beyond. Yet, within 5 minutes of all the major sites.

Pros: The location was fantastic. Buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious and the restaurant is great for people watching at any time - the staff is wonderful. One of the best Aperol Spritz I've ever had. The room was large and despite how busy it was outside, it was very quiet inside - it even had electric shades to get the room really dark. Venetian glass chandelier and lamps were a beautiful touch.

Pros: Take a water taxi to Piazza San Marco and you are only a few steps to the hotel. The hotel included a free boat trip to Murano to see a glass blowing studio and they also offer a one-hour boat tour around town in the afternoon for only 25 Euros per person. A decent hot and cold breakfast buffet was provided by the restaurant out front. We also enjoyed a dinner of traditional Italian specialties at the same restaurant in the evening. Our room was an inside room, so our view was only the courtyard area - but that was okay because all we had to do was step out the front door of the hotel and we were in the heart of beautiful scenery. If you request a waterfront room you will have gorgeous views. Our room seemed to be recently updated because everything looked clean and brand new. The bathroom was small but very modern with a relatively large walk-in shower - and it also looked like it had been recently renovated. The hotel common areas were undergoing renovations during our stay, but it did not disturb our visit at all.

The staff were friendly. The facilities of a standard higher than we enjoyed at another 4 star hotel in Venice a few days later. We were able to leave a case for two days even though we were not returning to them and when i went back to pick up the case the staff amazed me by remembering my name. I had asked them to make a fuss off my elderly parents and they did, giving them a room with a balcony. I would have no hesitation going back to Il Principe and would recommend it to all. We stayed in rooms 230 (with a balcony) and 231 - three great windows and wonderful decoration.

Pros: The hotel was perfectly located in the middle of the city. It's very easy to get to by public transportation (after finding the place) but I do suggest spending the money for a water taxi for the first visit. The decoration is charming and the hotel staff was great! The rooms weren't huge but it did the work. The view from the 4th floor over looked the city and we especially loved the windows and shutters that were actually functional. Overall, we would stay there again.

Pros: The property was beautiful and clean. The location was so convenient. Close to port, train station, and the Grand Cannal!
It was nice that our raye included buffett breakfast. The beds were the only thing I would suggest they improve. For a 4 star property, I was expecting cushier bedding.

Pros: Highly recommend staying here. Location could not have been more perfect, less than 30 second walk to San Marco square. While not a 7 star luxiourious hotel, it was beautiful when you walk in, rooms were clean and cute with Venician decor and staff was very helpful and kind. For the price, it was everything you want in a hotel and could not have been better with the location. Will recommend this to all of my friends and to avoid the hassle of researching hotels in Venice , just choose this one!

Pros: Convenient location to St Marks Piazza, many museums, many
and highly varied shops and the many water taxies. Breakfast, which
was included in the total price each night, was quite expansive for a
European hotel that was not charging additional costs for the meal --
a very nice selection of fruit, cereals, meats and even hot mini-omlettes.

Pros: Great location - 1 bridge over from San Marco Plaza - the heart of whats happening in Venice. Gondolier picked us up right out the side dock and it was close and easy walking to a lot of sights etc.
Staff was very kind & helpful. Breakfast can be hectic if you come at high traffic but all in all not bad. A very good value for the money in Venice and location cannot be beat.

Pros: We were pleasantly surprised - all 4 rooms our party were given on floors 2 and 4 were very nice,Venetian decorated and very clean, supplied complimentary toiletries. Great location, just off St. Marks square, near to The Hard Rock Cafe. The buffet breakfast was really good - we had fresh juice, coffee, selection of teas, cereals, rolls, preserves, butter, croissants, donuts, salami, ham, cheese, yogurt, bowl of fresh fruit salad. We couldn't believe that there was little omelets and crispy bacon on the buffet. We were set up for the day. The staff gave us a good tip on where to eat near the hotel, very good restaurant with live music. The hotel offers complimentary trip to Murano Island. It worked out to £85 per room incl. breakfast mid Nov
