The car i received (Nissan Kicks) was clean but the not sure if there was a problem with the engine as even the slightest of hills would make the engine strain. In addition, at one point, after putting the car in reverse, the car would not move at at all as if it was sin neutral. I tried many things to get it going again but finally had to turn it off and back on to be able to drive. When I visited a Budget rental store in Victoria to exchange the car with another (I had no confidence in the car), they told me they were a franchise and could not do anything about it (poor customer service?).Reviewed 2 Oct 2026

When we got the car, we found someone else’s rental agreement in the glove box and their matching credit card left in the console in the middle. Our flight was changed by just a little bit so we requested an extra hour and a half with the car instead of dropping off at 8:30 AM we have to drop it off at 10 AM and they told us they would charge us an extra day plus insurance plus taxes to keep it till 10. We just wanted to take the kids for breakfast before the flight so that was disappointing. The representative at pick up was a little cold and not very pleasant to deal with wasn’t necessarily rude. The experience getting it was terrible. They don’t have enough vans to collect people from the terminal we had to wait over 30 mins and every other company drove by multiple times. We then had to wait in a long line to get our car. They just don’t have enough staff. Our car wasn’t washed when we picked up just rinsed it. The tires on the car were bald we slid in wet weather. This car should have been a Rent-a-Wreck! It had electrical issues. The lights flickered on and off. The gas gauge did not register correctly. The cruise control did not work. Could not turn off lane assist. The roar coming from the rear of the car was deafening at times. Apple CarPlay appeared out of nowhere, worked for a bit, turned off and never came back on. Tires were out of balance and there was significant play in the steering wheel. It also had close to 60k miles on it.Reviewed 1 Oct 2026
