Pros:Super easy drop off.Cons:Booked through expedia. Not sure why we had to re-enter all personal information at pick up counter. I called ahead to extend drop off time by a few hours, but expedia/enterprise said only pick-up counter could tell me the hourly rate. At pick up, I was informed I would be charged an extra day, not an hourly rate. It would have been nice to have aligned information. Otherwise, pick-up and drop off were fairly smooth.Reviewed 28 Sep 2020

Pros:The staff at the Oakland location was good, they promptly helped us swap our car after it was broken into at the hotel parking lot.Cons:Call center really needs some training on treating customers with empathy. When our rental car was broken into, the roadside assistance rep who took our call spoke as if she didn’t care and read out the rules around swapping.cars, no sympathy whatsoever for the customer in that situation. Another rep gave us wrong information that caused us to drive to a location to swap cars where they said they didn’t have any cars at all. It was a waste of our precious vacation time. All in a rough car rental experience made worse by tge call center crew.Reviewed 13 Oct 2019

Unprofessional pick-upCons:The driver who picked me up was rude and unprofessional. He told me to get off my phone while I was working on my phone so he could make small chat in which he mentioned what he did with his tips and also complained to me about his manager texting him and not looking at the log in the office. Highly inappropriate for a customer to know the inter-workings of a business. And I felt he was pushing for a tip to the point of being rude, so I did not tip as I was offended by him interrupting my work. It was 9:45 am and I was there on business. It was business hours. An industry catering to working professionals should know this. I was so offended. I let the man at the counter know and he gave me a weak apology. The managers were close by and overheard and did not come over to offer an apology either. Worst Enterprise experience I have ever had.Reviewed 19 Sep 2017

Recovered servicePros:Upon return, the agent took great care and attention to rectify any problems we had. I felt valued, and like she saved the day for Enterprise.Cons:When we arrived, there was wet paint as someone had just painted the railing in front of the building. My wife ruined her shorts and tshirt on the paint. There was no sign to warn about wet paint. I explained this was unreasonable, and the manager offered a discount. We were told to go wait at Starbucks across the road until they had a car ready for us, even though I booked ahead and showed up on time. I had to verbally decline the insurance three times. When we returned the car, not only was there no discount applied, but there was the insurance. I explained the whole situation again, and must have found the right person this time, because they removed the insurance, discounted the car for the paint on the clothes, and offered to pay for our uber to the airport.Reviewed 22 Sep 2017

Pickup from the Oakland AirportPros:The speed of the check in/pick up process was relatively easy. We were given a vehicle larger than what we had initially reserved and quoted. This was not shared with us nor necessarily, but it was pretty clear the reason was they didn't have any compact cars in the lot.Cons:I didn't appreciate that each person we spoke with pushed rental upgrades for a discounted price. It was very forced and even when a firm "no, thank you" was supplied, the pitch continued. We ended up with a free upgrade because they didn't have the compact car we initially reserved... however it was not disclosed to us that this was happening, so if we would have agreed to the upgrade we would have ended up with a far less fuel efficient vehicle, and ended up with an upgrade at no additional cost. We also purchased insurance through KAYAK, and were still pressured to purchase their insurance. I understand this is a business, but pressuring your customers will not make for a repeat customer.Reviewed 13 Nov 2018

Oakland tripPros:Good response on airport pick-up. Staff was friendly.Cons:When I booked reservation, I specified Enterprise Oakland Airport - I didn't realize the Enterprise booking was outside of the airport. I had to call the Enterprise where it was booked so they could pick me up. Not a huge deal. But when we got to the Enterprise office we had to wait a half hour to 45 min. to get serviced. They did not seem very organized. I booked a compact or small car - staff was not sure they had one. Staff did not inform me they closed at 6:pm daily. I arrived at 6:30pm to find gates closed. I panicked, didn't know where I could return vehicle, fortunately I saw a guard and he told me to return it to the airport Enterprise. They also forgot to tell me their cars are equipped with passes to cross the toll bridges. Enterprise bills you later.Reviewed 27 Aug 2016
