New Jeep Compass had the new car smell. Clean and easy pickup and drop off. The trunk was pretty small but we were able to work it out. I was surprised to have a$300 deposit taken on top of the $500 rental fee. I’m waiting on the deposit return now. I just turned in the car yesterday.

Pickup & drop off was relatively painless. Neither rep demonstrated a welcoming attitude. All business. Pickup rep was eating while helping the customer ahead of me at pickup.

Cons:

A quick review of operating functions would have been helpful. I am a senior citizen not used to the new electronic wizardry. My wife & I spent a few minutes doing that at pickup and later again with headlight & windshield wiper settings. Picking up a vehicle and being thrust into traffic with rainy weather is not my idea of fun.

Houston was Awesome! The drop off point in Galveston had the incorrect hours listed on the building. The door said they would be closed but they were actually open with 20 or 30 people there!!!

The drop off location on the contract was not the right place, and when I called customer service to fix the problem, they said that the Houston branch imputed my wrong birthday, so they couldn’t modify my reservation for the correct drop off location. I ended up taking it to Galveston (my original drop off) and they kindly took the rental in, and even offered me a ride to the cruise terminal. I am impressed, and great full for the Galveston branch.

Pros:

The pick-up and drop-off was a smooth as I could imagine. Especially when looking around at how the other providers were operating.

Cons:

I got swindled by the associate checking me in. When choosing refuel options, I was shown a price per gallon that I would pay for them to fill up the tank. They "forgot" to mention that I would be charged for a full tank of gas at that price, regardless of amount of fuel used. Definitely tainted the image I previously had of Enterprise.

The BMW was extremely comfortable, but we had a heck of a problem trying to figure out which button to push for various things. The people at the checkout counter, the key distribution and the return were simply a lot of fun. All of them were smiling and laughing when appropriate. That is a good operation! We were very impressed.

I was quoted a price upon reservation. When I arrived to pick up the car I was told the car did not have GPS which I assumed it would have and absolutely needed. The car with GPS cost me more than TWICE as much as the initial quoted price and it was not a category update. I have consistently rented with Sixt for years in Paris, France. You can look it up. GPS was never an issue. To say the least I am extremely disappointed at what I consider as misrepresentation, and will steer away from Sixt in the future.

The process for checking in, picking up and dropping off was really easy. When we drove the vehicle into the underground, there were already atrendants waving us down to park the vehicle. It was great as we were directed without having to waste time on looking for a drop-off area. We love the shuttle service to and from IAH. It saves so much time when you don't have to look for parking or look for the correct terminal to enter into.

The Payless counter was closed at the IAH rental car center and they were directing Payless customers to the AVIS desk (This, mind you, was the Thursday before the Easter holiday). It took 45 minutes to an hour to get to a customer service rep. Then, they were out of the size car we ordered so they upgraded us to a small SUV. Which we thought would be good until we got in and it smelled like cigarette smoke. Not a great experience.

Had to spent almost 2 hours at the rental place to get a car seat. Initial eta provided was 10 mins. At least 12 cars were waiting in queue to check out at the gate. Hertz said they will reimburse car seat fee for the inconvenience, but didn't do that as well.

It needs to be explained better on which cars need a major credit card and which ones can be rented with a debit card. I reserved a rental for a trip and when I went to pick it up they denied it because all I had was a debit card. So unfortunately I wasn't able to make my trip. I'm very disappointed in the service that I was given

The dropoff in Brownsville was pitiful. The airport return lot wasn't properly marked. There is nobody there to explain how to check in. I ultimately went into the airport and found someone to confim dropoff.

The van I expected was not available the day of pick up. I did receive an email saying my rental is ready for pick-up at 11 a.m. the day before. I was dropped off and never received a call or email saying my van is no longer available. I had to rent a vehicle from a different vendor for triple the price of the van I requested.

Communication to your customers. You sent the initial email saying that the my van was available for pick up yet NO ONE bother to notify me when it is no longer available.

While I was on my way to pickup the vehicle I called the facility to let them know instead of 5 I am expecting to arrive there at 530pm. I was told by the staff member on phone that they close at 4pm and she was told by her boss not to wait and asked me to come next morning at 8 am if still of interest.

Getting ahold of someone is nearly impossible. I was given no instructions for after hours drop-off. I shouldn't have assumed. I had to listen to an automated phone message 4 times to get the address to the hotel correct. This hotel happens to loan out their shuttle bus for pick ups and drop offs, DURING BUSINESS HOURS ONLY! Dropping off the vehicle at any other time, with the hotel they tell you to use, will cost you an extra $20 for them to retrieve it. They are like 3 miles away from this hotel. They are inexpensive so I guess I can't complain too much but almost every other rental agency has provisions for getting you to and from the airport regardless of the time as a part doing business with them. Apart from this, I guess they're okay.

Upon arrival we followed instructions and attempted to contact Nextcar. Nextcar never responded to any of our calls or emails, we eventually had to secure another rental at the last moment for 3 times the cost. Do not ever use Nextcar!

Let me start with: The conditions of the car was unacceptable. I rented a car from this company for three days and since the first day the car had a huge cracked in the middle of the windshield. I took the car because it was Easter weekend and I couldn't afford to waste time waiting for someone to find out how to assist me. There were no additional cars in the lot and I needed to leave right away since I was hosting a bachelor party. When I first drove the car out I thought it was uncomfortable but during night driving i realized how much of a safety harzar I was exposing myself into. To add up to this issue, the headlights had a low capacity. The range of light didn't emit enough light to see properly at night. The worst part was driving in the highway, car kept beeping signaling to turn the lights on. Latter on the day the car was making crack noises when I reversing. I made the company aware of all the issues through email and text messages but through the whole three days they didn't provide a proper response. I called the number on the original reservation but no one responded. When I complained they told me I should have brought the car back since the first day. Why not reply to my email or calls and tell me that. I spoke to the manager when I returnedthe car, he told me he saw a missed call. Why not call back, he knew it was me. I drove 30 minutes away and needed a car. I wasn't going to lose more than an hour just on driving for him to tell me there wasn't a car available. If there was reassurement from his part I would have done it. This is the worst place for you to rent a car in huston.

I sent my itinerary ahead of time with arrival/departure time. I wasn’t told they didn’t have after hours for pick up’s. Ended up having to take an Uber and stay at a hotel. Theo my thing they offered me was to cancel my reservation which wasn’t an option. I booked an intermediate suv and they gave me a Chevy Spark (sub compact car). Again they offered me to cancel if I didn’t want it. I was limited on time and options so I took it. They told me I could drop it off with valet at airport. When it came time to process my refund they shorted me $20. They said it was for the parking. Something they didn’t disclose to me. These shady business practices are common in Houston. I will never use this company again. Spend a little more and go somewhere else.

The price of the rental was great, but I suspect they were less than the others for a reason. I didn’t realize that their location at IAH wasn’t at the Rental Car Center like all the others. There were specific instructions about a ride pick up to their location. It took them 45 minutes AFTER I initially called them to come and get me, then another 15 minutes to their lot- I also had to call them back multiple times because they didn’t follow up like they said they would on the phone. Honestly, I was worried it was a scam. Once I was at the office they were friendly. I got the appropriate level of car for what I paid. As I was about to leave I was told a tire pressure sensor on the dash was flashing but ‘everything was working properly’. Once I was 5 minutes away I realized the inspection sticker was expired by 4 months so I had to worry about getting a ticket the entire week I was driving around. The interior was not as clean as I would have hoped, and had a terrible marijuana odor to it. Returning the car was fine and they took me back to the airport in a timely manner but the guy driving drove like a maniac. Next time, I’ll likely spend more money and go with a more reputable company so it’s more organized and I have to worry less.

I liked the online portion of the rental-very easy! Finding the Easirent was an enormous challenge and their shuttle from the airport was nonexistent (another Hotel Shuttle took pity on me and gave me a lift) and they were extremely unorganized when I arrived. I didn’t get the vehicle I requested and was charged for a larger vehicle than I got. The car I ended up with didn’t have a key fob so I was constantly manually locking and unlocking my doors. The staff was however EXTREMELY kind and considerate and made every effort to make up for the unorganized way I was greeted. I was given a hand written waiver on gas, which is appreciated but also not that professional. If I rent again and am alone I would rent with Easirent, but if I were flying with clients I would not.
