Pros: Location, appearance, friendliness of staff, and the rooftop. The fitness center was adequate and even if it wasn't, the view from there was amazing! There was great food at the hotel and all around the neighbourhood, try Wolf Nights and Tiny's Giant Sandwich Shop. We spotted a few TV and sports stars in the lobby, that was interesting...they are much uglier in person.
Cons: I felt like I spent a lot of time waiting for the elevator and the complimentary coffee seemed to be a chore for the staff to deal with. Also, there was an incident when my girlfriend needed assistance with something and the concierge was skeptical that she was a guest and was very rude. Everyone else was great!

Pros: I needed a hotel close to a conference I was attending and found a deal here online. this turned out to be a great choice. Affordable small room is well furnished perfect for one person or a couple who like to be close! I travel with a service dog, and the hotel staff treated us both extremely well. There was a ton of fun NYC activity to do in walking distance & subway is right across the street, so my business trip included the requisit level of evening debauchery. If you'd rather spend your time in the city out on the town than in your room, this perfectly fine hotel saves ya money you could spend in restaurants & at shows!

Pros: I've stayed here at least 5 times now, so finally felt compelled to review. The hotel is nothing truly fancy but it almost feels that way. Rooms are very small, but they're nice. If you're there for business or travel and not planning to stay inside you'll be fine. I've stayed in hotels for twice the price that feel to be the same scale. I keep returning bc they make it easy. The staff is super friendly and the location is literally steps from the subway. More then anything it's the price vs facilities that can't be beat. For the same $$ you'd be staying in generic corporate hotels that are uglier, less clean and grumpy. There's also coffee and tea served all day, which is nice.
Cons: The elevator is slow and they no longer serve breakfast.

Pros: The staff was so nice and the room was clean & comfortable. A great deal in a fun neighborhood. They even held onto my luggage after check out so I could run around the city before heading to the airport.

Pros: This was our second stay at Hotel East Houston and we still liked it. The rooms are quite small but big enough to not feel claustrophobic. There's a glass wall between the bathroom and the room, so you'll need to be pretty comfortable with your traveling partner. I liked the fact that our room had an Air conditioning/heat system we could control on our own.
Cons: The hotel is not super convenient to any major Subway lines. Houston Street is often busy so you'll likely hear some street noise in your room. But hey, that's NYC for you.

Pros: Wonderful small hotel right in the heart of the Lower East Side of NYC. You step out the hotel door and you are in the real NYC. Less than a block away from a subway station. Beautiful 7th floor patio that you can see views of the Empire State Building, Freedom Tower and the Chrysler Building. Every type of restaurant you can think of within walking distance. A Whole Foods a block away.
Cons: The mattresses in the rooms could be a little better quality. Not terrible but could be better.

Pros: I booked this hotel for the amenities that the offer. Nothing in the apps nor their website or even the hotel lobby is telling me that the spa is closed nor where or what should I expect. Very upsetting and I was really hoping to relax before going back to my dogs funeral.

Pros: I didn't do a ton of research on Hotel Indigo before booking my stay and arriving at the hotel. We were in NY for a wedding and we received a discounted room rate as negotiated by the groom. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is hip and clean and in a great location. The proximity to Katz's is worth it. There is also really great coffee in this neighborhood. Try Ludlow right across the street from the hotel or Cafe Vita only a few blocks south. I would say the due to the room rate discount we were pretty lucky with the price we paid as the hotel was booking around $500 per night (their regular fee). I would say that $500 is over priced for that hotel but $350 or lower is a great deal.
Cons: Because there is a seemingly popular bar on the 15th floor of hotel you can run into some characters when it is just time to go to bed. Also when coming back home for the night the door man acts as security so you have to your room key on you in order to just get through the door. The receptionist warned us about this so we were prepared but I thought it was a little annoying. However as a guest of the hotel you get restaurant and bar privileges so there is no wait for you to get in.

Pros: Breakfast was mediocre. Dinner was ok but the wait staff needs to pay more attention to details. And the customer. When they delivered dinner they dropped the plates and disappeared. We didn't even have a chance to ask for silverware, which one of us was missing. We shared until we could get someones attention. Not an easy task here as they seem to go with the NYC theory, Don't make eye contact. When we were finished I asked the wait staff for our check (I hadn't seen our waitress in a while). We waited, and waited, and waited. I finally saw our waitress by the bar so I went over and asked for the check. All in all, a mediocre experience. The only plus is the location. I won't return. Not really worth the $$$.

Cons: A/C worked well but was very loud especially with something loose inside that made a clunking noise constantly while the A/C ran. I called down after the first night to see if could be addressed. Engineering was sent while we were out but the problem wasn't fixed. We got in too late to deal with the second so had to try prob a chair against it to dampen the noise :(

Pros: We found the staff was helpful. We liked the location. The hotel is well appointed. When we pointed out a minor problem with the elevators, we were given a 4PM checkout at no additional cost. We will dedefinitely stay there next time we come to NYC!

Pros: I rarely write reviews but our stay at Hoilday Inn LES was perfect as it was three blocks away from my family we were visiting. We booked two rooms for the price of one boutique hotel in the neighborhood. The rooms were clean and modern. I've stayed in luxury hotels like the Ritz and boutique hotels like the Kimptons. This Holiday Inn room reminded me of the W Hotel in San Francisco (size, style, etc. less one down comforter). The staff was always courteous and helpful. Free WiFi! could use their "e-room" to use computer or print boarding passes. Free complementary toiletries if you forgot something. Air conditioner was amazing. Showers and water pressure were awesome. Room was very quiet. This will be our go-to hotel from now on in NYC.

Pros: The hotel has a modern, slightly industrial feel with cement ceilings and exposed beams, which I liked. The bathroom is similar to recently updated Hyatts but the living/sleeping space is much more trendy. I liked the floor to ceiling windows and the light fixtures. Our king suite has a great little sitting area, too. The most important thing was that the location cannot be beat. We didn't take a taxi once! There are lots of great bars, restaurants and clubs in the area but the subway stop nearby makes everything easy.
Cons: The walls don't seem very well insulated. We were woken up at 3:30am by our rowdy neighbors opening and shutting their door and talking.
