Pros:Drop off was easyCons:The original booking fell through because they did not have a car for me. Had to switch to a different pick up location 2 hours before planned departure. The car had a horrible shake at 70mph. This made my 12 hours of driving quite miserable.Reviewed 26 Jan 2021

Cons:I was not able to rent a car. The online site and the representatives on the phone always said there were cars available and when we arrived to the picky location there was a lo g line with about 20 to 25 people waiting and complaining that they were told their cars were ready and they had even paid for it, where there was nothing available. There is no respect what so ever to the people’s life and time. The procedures for the representatives on the phone should advise the customers with the actual availability of vehicle, most of us were tourists lost in Atlanta city without car and having to changed vacation plans within 3 hours. Caution on Prepaying for a rentalPros:easy access to rental at Peachtree DeKalb airport. Friendly and helpful staff.Cons:I prepaid for my rental. First, you DO NOT get a refund if you drop your car off early. Seem backwards. A prepay would have a more likely hood of showing up. Second, at least in my case with a third party reservation, they did not collect taxes. So you may search and find the lowest rate, but need TO BE SURE IF OR IF NOT THE TAXES are included in the price. Finally, the picture show was of a Prius, I have never driven or been in one and I though I would take a risk and see if I got it. Well it turns out, they didn't rent prius from that location. Horrible experiencePros:NothingCons:When we went to pick up the car, hertz didn't have any. I am not sure how it is even remotely possible for a car rental place to have zero cars available. We had to drive a half an hour across town to a different location to get a car. They only had SUVs available, so I had to pay more than twice the rate I had initially agreed to pay when I reserved a compact car. They were not very helpful and when I returned the car in Nashville Tennessee, all I got for my trouble was a $75 off voucher for next time. That's just silly because there won't be a next time. bait and switch - not Hertz faultPros:car was fine - not Hertz faultCons:Using Kayak, i put in my search criteria ... pick up and drop off at ATL airport. The search results came up and chose the first one ... lowest price. Turns out the pickup and dropoff site was 45 minutes drive NORTH of ATL airport. To make matter worse, I had to drive back past the airport to get to my SOUTH destination. It took 1.5 hours to get back past the airport. So I wasted 3 hours and $60 for a cab to pick up a rental. Not happy about this. Probably will not use KAYAK or CarRentals again.Reviewed 21 May 2018

Reserved a car and no car -- missed a wedding because of itPros:NothingCons:I rented a car online in advance. Flew into Atlanta on Saturday morning, made my way to the Hilton location -- no car. They sent me back to airport, where they also didn't have any cars. Other counters also didn't have cars. So, I missed a wedding. I MADE a reservation!!!! What IS a reservation????? So a $400 plane ticket to MISS wedding. Unbelievable. Totally beyond angry. First time I rented a car with Hertz. Will never do again. Have a corporate account that we are looking to change -- definitely not going to be Hertz. And, your customer service desk is closed on Saturdays, so no help from anyone. Plus, in trying to call back to the Hilton once I got to the airport and they didn't have any either, the Hilton line wasn't picking up. It just rang and rang. The people at the airport couldn't get an answer either. Got the regional manager's number from the airport folks -- he didn't pick up either. Again, what is a reservation? My understanding is that you have reserved a car. Person at the desk told me that is not true. Just that you WANT a car reserved. Is this true? Crazy!!!! My worst experience in a car rentalPros:There was absolutely nothing to like about!Cons:- The staff (there was only ONE working, a few others were just watching!) were rude and unfriendly! They did not have the car ready at the specified time, but they never apologized or showed any sign of courtesy. - The lady who helped me book the car, asked for my ID and credit card 7 times! Her computer timed out every 30 seconds (so she said!) - They charged me $100 more than what I had already paid online through Kayak! While Kayak had told me this was my total! - I ended up waiting for one hour and 15 mins until I receive a car that WAS NOT what I booked for online! The car that I was supposed to receive had to go to oil change!! (so she said). They gave an extremely huge and uncomfortable car! No apologies what so ever! - The place was absolutely a mess. About 15 customers waiting in that room, with only ONE personnel working! The place was stinky and dirty! No chairs for people to sit, no waiting area, no service at all!! - This was by very far my worst experience in car rentals within the entire North America!Reviewed 1 Aug 2018
