Pros: Clean and professional
Excellent9.7
Pros: Overall, a nice hotel and had a good stay. I especially enjoyed the gym, which was the best hotel gym I've ever tried - had a lifting platform, power racks, and dumbbells going up to 120 lbs. My only complaint would be the daily parking fee, nearly $50 a day. Nearby garages seemed to be charging $20-$25 a day.
Good6.8
Pros: - Location is good. - Staff is excellent. They took great care of us. - Many thanks for letting us use the gym showers after our athletic event, even though we had already checked out.
Cons: - Air conditioning so loud, it was similar to a Day's Inn. - Expensive parking. The parking fee increased 20% from the time I booked the room ($40/night) to the time I stayed ($48/night). Hotel should hold the parking rate for reservations locked in months prior to a rate increase.
Good6.8
Pros: Good location
Cons: Several smokers on our floor.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Several times during our stay, we found various staff members extremely helpful and always cheerful!
Cons: When we stay in $50 rooms in little Maine motels, the WiFi is free and as fast or faster than here! For $10-15, I expected much better.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Extremely impressed by staff, facilities, comfort, cleanliness and overall level of quality.
Good7.4
Pros: Very nice, large, clean rooms.
Cons: Under construction. Gets noisy well before 8am says it's in Georgetown but really it's east of it. Not a lot walking distance
Excellent10.0
Pros: Loved the proximity to Georgetown. Ultra comfortable with their own apiary on the roof. Great products. Will purchase Rose 31 online!
Cons: Super high parking rates. UGH
Excellent10.0
Pros: Great location. Very clean room and bathroom. Great ambiance in the area.
Cons: The air conditioner in the room would keep automatically changing to the heater setting.

Pros: Very clean, quiet and accommodating.
Excellent8.2
Cons: Colonial parking provides valet parking at the Willard for $55 per night. They refused to tell me about any other options when there was another parking garage just behind the hotel. I won't return to the Willard until they lower their parking rates.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Location is ideal for seeing the museums and monuments. Lobby and restaurant staff are warm and welcoming.
Cons: If you forget to tip housekeeping each morning, don't expect clean towels.

Pros: The hotel has been recently renovated, so everything was brand new. Note that only half of the hotel is the "historic" part, now the other half is new. That didn't bother me at all. There was a very nice, upscale feel to the whole place. The staff were wonderful - very nice and accommodating. I stayed one night and when I came into my room after being out, all of my lights weren't working - a breaker had blown. When I called the front desk, it was taken care of within 10 minutes by a very polite maintenance staffer.
Cons: The location was just okay - I walked from the closest Metro (Mt Vernon/Convention Center), and found myself walking along a street with boarded up houses. I wasn't taking any shortcuts, this was one of the main streets by the hotel. This wasn't too much of a problem for me, as I used Lyft to get everywhere and didn't do much walking at all. But it is something to keep in mind if you are making a reservation here. The only other thing was that my bed was very firm. That's a total personal preference, but did interfere with my sleep
Excellent10.0
Pros: The staff was friendly, location was convenient, rooms were very comfortable and nicely furnished.
Mediocre2.0
Cons: Small room. Dirty carpet. TV in a cabinet. Full size bed. Horrible stay
Excellent10.0
Pros: The hotel was quiet, the room furnishings were fresh and attractive, and I found the decor pleasing generally. The room overlooked the courtyard, which was also quiet. A good location too--we were able to walk to many of our destinations right from the hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I needed a cab one rainy morning, and asked at the front desk if they could call for one. Instead, the bellman grabbed his umbrella and went out to the street, down to the nearest busy corner, and whistled up one for me. Above and beyond!
Cons: Our room was small--would have been perfect for a single guest, but a little cramped for two. Just one bedside table, for example, with no room for a second. We would have liked a king bed, but one evidently wasn't available--again, perhaps a size issue. Last, half the wardrobe cabinet was taken up by a room safe and refrigerator pre-stocked with candy, soda, and alcohol, so there wasn't quite enough room for two people to hang our things. And yes, no iron or ironing board. We didn't try the meal facilities. We'd stay again--the pluses outweigh the minuses.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Very comfortable room, friendly staff and great location
Excellent10.0
Pros: Welcoming staff. Very comfortable room. Comfortable bed, roomy shower. Good temperature controls. Very nice courtyard.
Cons: Should have free coffee in lobby in the morning. Temperature in lobby too cold.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Unique historic and charming hotel in great downtown location. Nice antique furnishings, nice dining are for breakfast.
Cons: The room was small but clean and comfortable.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The hotel was absolutely stunning! The restaurant's service was great and the food was delicious.
Mediocre2.0
Pros: staff was courteous
Cons: They accepted my reservation then gave away the room. Sent me to another hotel without rooms. A true nightmare in the middle of the night in DC

Pros: Customer service was phenomenal. Short wait times, responsive knowledgeable staff.
Cons: Valet service was lacking due to extended wait times. The hotel is renovating the front lobby, so the entrance was moved to Pennsylvania Ave.

Pros: Location Maids
Cons: Front desk staff on more than one occasion Very small rooms
Excellent10.0
Pros: The staff at the hotel went out of their way to please us. In particular: Mr. Herb Wright greeted us daily with his million dollar smile and was always ready to be of assistance. Mekdes Pierce, Nathan and Limlin worked so hard each day in the lounge for breakfast and appetizers/dinner. They were so kind no matter how busy they were.
Cons: Absolutely not one thing. It was an outstanding hotel.

Cons: Parking cost / benefit : ok but very hefty

Pros: the rooms were clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Central location
Cons: Very small rooms. Housekeeping tries to go into occupied rooms without properly knocking, room service food and deliveryis poor, phone attendants seem angry.
Excellent10.0
Pros: This is such a grand hotel. We spent 4 wonderful days here, great staff, exceptionally clean rooms and great views.
Good6.0
Pros: We likes the decor and the cleanliness of the hotel. The hotel was in a good location for sightseeing.
Cons: Housekeeping forgot to clean our room in the morning so we had to call and ask that they come at night when we were out to dinner. The pillows were also really too soft without much support. And we didn't realize until we got there that the overnight parking fee was $59 per night....kind of a lot when you gross everything up we might have been better off at another hotel location with less expensive parking! Once you are there though you are stuck with it. Ugh. Next time.
Good6.0
Pros: Location
Cons: They offered to an upgraded room with a view for more $ Room had no view. AC broke , took 1 full day and multiple sells to get it repaired.

Excellent10.0
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at The Melrose very much. The room was great. The location was perfect, close to Georgetown but also good access to the metro and buses going to the Mall. The wait/bar staff were great -- we had good experiences in the afternoon and evenings. The in-house, homemade limoncello was excellent.
Cons: No negatives really. We did have a problem control the air temperature/freshness at night, but that might have been because it was a warm weekend in spring -- maybe the air conditioners weren't on yet?
Excellent9.1
Pros: Stanley, along with anyone else I met within management was just absolutely amazing. Everyone there made me feel like a VIP. I had a bad experience in the past, last August, while staying there on business. Whereas, this time on leisure, the hotel staff redeemed themselves, and I look forward to doing business with the Melrose again in the future!
Cons: The bed. Way too uncomfortable. I'm in the mattress business (Sleepy's), if you need new mattresses, let me know!
Excellent9.7
Pros: The doormen/bell captains, and all the staff were incredibly gracious and helpful. The room was good-sized and well appointed. The location is great with many restaurants in walking distance. The Metro is about 3 blocks away.
Cons: The view from our room was not great, but we didn't care.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Rooms, staff and food
Excellent10.0
Pros: after checking into the hotel I went downstairs to have dinner the food was very good almost blew me away that this was from a hotel. The rooms are very nice beds are very comfortable to sleep in
Cons: breakfast service downstairs extremely slow I ordered smoked salmon bagel and cream cheese with C it took over 30 minutes to get it to me the serverwas very flustered I asked for a to go box she just gave me just the box with no wax paper to take away my food.
Excellent10.0
Pros: I love when staff member offered me and my family a bottles of water when we were waiting outside for my Lyft ride.i
Cons: I wish ice machines were on each floor however when I ask for ice at the front desk, I was supply with a bag.
Mediocre2.8
Pros: The hot apple cider in the lobby. Great location.
Cons: The room was filthy. It was NYE so we didn't make a big fuss about it but we were not happy right away. Random sprays of stuff on the walls, a nice little white stain on the bed skirt. The first thing we did was check for bed bugs and luckily there were none. We went out for a nice dinner and when we got back there were security guards in the lobby who stopped us and asked if we were guests but we just nodded and he let us right by. We spent the rest of the night listening to one of our neighbors break glass and toss furniture around- I get it it's NYE but we didn't think this hotel was that kind of place or we never would have paid this much to stay here. The only thing the front desk did was offer us comped breakfast and to have security "look around". The final blow came upon checkout when we found out the valet fee was $50! $50?! Why not offer to comp that instead of breakfast no way we were gonna eat something made in this filthy place.
Excellent8.5
Pros: The staff was very welcoming and helpful.
Cons: At times wait staff was sparse
Excellent10.0
Pros: Great location
Excellent10.0
Pros: Great customer service, layout of rooms, cleanliness, quality of soap products, complimentary coffee in morning, great location, full-service restaurant
Cons: Expensive valet parking.
Excellent9.4
Pros: The decor was excellent. I recommend using the subway, it's a short walk away.
Cons: If it had a pool it would have been perfect, but otherwise it was fantastic. Service at the in-hotel restaurant was slow and food was a little overpriced compared to the excellent food you could get around town.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Staff very friendly and accommodating. good location, nice area for walking, close to Rock Creek Trail
Excellent9.7
Pros: Great location, great food, great staff, very comfortable.
Cons: No coffee in the rooms!
Excellent10.0
Pros: Can rank this as one of the best. Not over the top stuffy but excellent service, clean, active, perfect proximity to all of DC, awesome decor, fabulous staff. We are just so pleased and are excited to know we no longer need to search for a place when we come to DC in the future. It will always be The Melrose.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Clean, friendly staff
Cons: Morning coffee ( that was free!) was horrible
Excellent10.0
Pros: amazing service
Good6.2
Pros: was in town on business. Staff was polite and helpful even though I checked in around midnight. Room and decor were average at best. Not enough easily usable outlets next to nightstands. Central air system was noisy. a Pubic hair left on the sink and a couple in the shower was gross. Morning complimentary coffee was actually decent which was appreciated since I had to be up at 5. All in all, fine for me as a solo business traveler billing the client for accommodation. However if I was looking for a romantic getaway with my lady, or on vacation with the kids, i'd look for somewhere with a more unique and fun vibe and higher standards.
Excellent8.8
Pros: Hotel facilities were very nice, location is perfect for going to GW. The staff were very helpful, I had a problem with the reservation, as even though I booked the reservation using getroom.com, it was not found in the hotel's records. I spent an hour on the phone with getaroom and the hotel staff to get it resolved. They recommended that I use Hotels Tonight instead.
Cons: One comment, the cleaning staff woke us up at 8AM to ask us what time we wanted the room cleaned. I thought that was a little weird... would generally prefer they just come when we're not there.
This family-friendly Washington hotel is located near the airport, within a 15-minute walk of White House, National Museum of African American History and Culture and Washington Monument. Capital One Arena and National Mall are also within 1 mi (2 km). McPherson Sq. Station is only a 3-minute walk and Farragut West Station is 7 minutes.

Pros: Location and cleanliness
Excellent9.7
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Miscommunication in the lounge regarding a wine selection, and subsequently being overcharged.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The people at the front desk, the concierges, the doormen, and the housekeeps were truly concerned about my comfort and seeing that I had the best possible time in Washington. Your concierges are extremely knowledgeable and took the time necessary to help me find stores and restaurants; making phone calls for me to get things done. My own family doesn't care for me that well!
Cons: Cannot think of anything. Oh, there is one little thing, the front door to my room, number 302, sticks. I meant to inform the front desk, but it was so insignificant compared to everything else, that I forgot.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The staff and service was first-rate and the location made walking easy to the various monuments and museums. Also the train station was in easy walking distance.
Cons: I can honestly say that there was nothing bad about this trip...my wife and I had a wonderful time!
Excellent8.0
Pros: very comfortable bed and room
Cons: Most of the staff was excellent but one person was not friendly and didn't make effort to upgrade the room since the door of the room they gave me was broken. A second person immediately changed the room for the better.
Excellent10.0
Pros: We experienced the sweetest women at the front desk, both named Anna. One even kindly gave us a room with a view at no additional charge since it was my boyfriends first time to DC. She recommended some great dinner spots which we loved. Also, the gentleman outside the next morning were so friendly, we chatted with them for a while before our Uber came. Kudos to everyone for welcoming us home after a long trip abroad. Made us feel so happy to be back.
Cons: Hair dryer could use an upgrade but was definitely sufficient to get the job done.
Excellent8.8
Pros: Staff was very friendly and the room was clean, comfortable, and dark at night. At check in my wife asked about a refrigerator since she is pumping and the young lady had one sent to the room.
Cons: The refrigerator was broken. We were able to make due with ice from the hall.
Okay5.7
Pros: Location, excellent door men.
Cons: No premium channels. Broken toilet that was "fixed" twice but I had to fix it myself a couple times. No water pressure. House keeping only left us with 1 towel. View of a brick building 6ft from my window. Bar staff were disruptive and joking loudly with doormen while people waited at the bar.
Excellent9.7
Pros: I liked everything. The room was modern, well appointed, with a comfortable bed, and spacious bath. The staff was as pleasant and helpful as any I have encountered in some time. The location is great! I ate in the restaurant once and I enjoyed my meal. I look forward to my next visit.
Cons: The closet space in the room I had was limited and would probably be tight for two people. This is a very small fault in an otherwise very pleasant stay.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Bathroom was excellent, location was great.
Cons: Room service was very expensive, there was a $10 delivery fee, then 18% gratity automatically added, and when they deliver, then there’s another line for a tip the receipt. Also the air conditioning in the room was terrible. By day 3, I would say it finally got to 74 in the room, after being set to 65 the entire time.
Located in Woodley Park, this hotel is 1 mi (1.5 km) from Smithsonian's National Zoo. Woodley Park-Zoo Station is only a 4-minute walk and Cleveland Park Station is 20 minutes.

Pros: This is a gorgeous hotel. The entrance is very grand with beautiful chandeliers. The staff was attentive and polite. We checked in quickly and were given a large room with a balcony - even a spacious bathroom. The metro is very close if you're heading to the monuments or museums. Also the zoo is about a half mile up Conn. Ave. which was convenient. Adams Morgan is nearby and there are lots of great restaurants in between. You can't beat this location anywhere in D.C. I've stayed at the Omni in New Orleans, New York, and Richmond over the years. They are all an excellent choice.

Cons: No free wi-fi
Good7.4
Pros: Location is great, bar / restaurant was convenient
Cons: I'm not sure whether it was just my room being located at the end of a hallway or in a corner, but the noise coming from the hallway was significantly loud in my room. Also, the walls seemed *really* thin, as I could hear the conversations of the people in the room next to mine pretty clearly. I had to use a white noise app on my phone to drown it out so I could get some sleep.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Very good amenities in room for charging phones, tablets, computers, etc. Very clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Cons: Starbucks is right in the lobby. But allow extra time as their service is considerably slower than typical of Starbucks
Okay5.7
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was dark and a neighbor had a very loud party going on. Security couldn’t do anything and our kids were awake until 2am
Excellent8.8
Pros: Very friendly staff!
Cons: Watch the charges. Some claim "free" or complimentary but they aren't. Also the front desk wasn't staffed well for a busy weekend of a large charity function. Longer than expected wait times to check-in and out especially.
Excellent9.6
Pros: Updated, modern hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location for touring DC by foot.
Cons: Restaurant food was so-so. Found places close by for all of our other meals.

Cons: Expensive

Pros: The actual hotel was clean and updated, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the actual stay was great. Nice little happy hour offered at the bar.
Cons: Valet parked my car for 1 night, and took it upon themselves to charge $50 to my credit card, plus a $17 convenience fee. No lot in the surrounding area exceeded $25 for overnight parking. I should have parked my own car. I feel that the hotel was nervy and rude to charge us double the going rate for parking - without notifying me. I felt taken advantage of, since we were already paying top dollar for a 1 night stay. The hotel was nice, but not that nice. I stay in DC all the time, but I may not return unless this problem is rectified.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Good location. Friendly staff. Clean room. Quiet. Nice bar in the lobby. Beautiful decor.
Cons: Parking was ridiculously expensive. It’s in DC.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The staff were very friendly and the hotel was beautiful. We'd definitely stay here again!
Excellent10.0
Pros: Excellent service. I ask them if I could make my check in before 3 pm (the official hour) because I was going to arrive at 9 am, and they had my room ready for that hour.

Good7.7
Pros: We were in a suite and it was spacious and nicely furnished. Most staff were nice. Great having a Starbucks in the lobby. Nice central location.
Cons: The bathroom was small, especially the corner sink. There was no counter space. Front desk clerks were hit and miss. Some nice, some not. Concierge staff were great. The breakfast was OK, not great.
Excellent8.0
Pros: The hotel was operating with limited staff and facilities (restaurants closed, no valet parking) but the staff that were there were very friendly and professional.
Cons: Maintenance in the room could have been a little better. The blind wouldn’t close all the way and the faucet leaked onto the sink.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Comfort of the room
Cons: Lack of phone service or free wifi.
Excellent9.4
Pros: Great location, grade A service and the hotel itself is for the most part well kept.
Cons: The elevators were small and during “rush hour” it would take about 10 -15 minutes before finding an elevator that was open
Excellent8.8
Pros: The hotel is a beautiful place with excellent finishes. Everything was in great condition and high quality.
Cons: The rooms were small, which in understandable given the location, but this was a double bed room so it seemed even smaller.

Pros: The hotel staff was great and I liked that they had parking. The room was nice & location was great.
Cons: Everything about the hotel was great. One of the reasons I liked it was because it was smoke-free however, the room smelt of smoke the last night we stayed and even again in the early morning before we checked out. Not the hotels fault, was just disappointing.
Excellent9.1
Pros: Location is awesome though not right on a metro line. Clean, great pool, good staff, rooms and bathrooms clean whenever I've stayed here. And for the price? Crazy good.
Cons: Not being right on top of a metro wouldn't be good for those not able to walk a little bit.
Excellent9.1
Pros: Friendly staff, clean and attractive, excellent hotel for the price!
Cons: Bar closes too early. Minor problems with accessories in room.
Excellent10.0
Pros: From the moment we stepped out of our rental car the hotel staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We had just come in to DC from two days of flying and driving and right away the hotel staff made us feel right at home. They carried our bags, helped us with transportation in DC by pointing us in the right direction, and even gave us apples on our way out for the day. We had never been to DC and have 2 small children and did all the sight seeing we could pack in for 2 days. The location of the hotel was great. One night the weather was great and we all enjoyed the walk through the city back and forth from the Washington Monument. It is quite the walk, so if you are not up for it we also took a cab and used Lyft in which every place only cost about 10.00 to get a ride to and from the hotel. I also feel compelled to mention that maybe it was the look on our faces when we stepped out of our car after the long traveling experince with 2 small kids, but whatever it was they upgraded our room to a balcony! I think her name was Elena that offered the upgrade, and it was very much appreciated!
Excellent9.7
Pros: Most friendly staff I've ever encountered at a hotel.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The staff was very freindly, bed's and pillows were very comfortable, breakfast was delicious. Grear location in our Nation's Capital.
Excellent10.0
Pros: I really enjoyed the value and comfort of this hotel while still having elegant charm.
Excellent8.5
Pros: The staff at Washington plaza were very professional and friendly. We had checked in for 2 days (all paid) and having some emergency we checked out on the first day only to find out at the airport that we didn’t have to leave. I called the front desk and with no hassle they gave our room back. Thank you for a great service and friendly atmosphere.
Excellent8.2
Pros: Comfortable bed Quiet during the week Staff very polite and helpful
Excellent10.0
Pros: Everything else. Got what I paid for with extras!!! WILL BE BACK!!!
Cons: Would be great if each room have a microwave
Excellent9.4
Pros: Easy access to Metro, White Hose, Mall, etc. IF you are a walker. Very welcoming, professional and responsive staff. They were happy to change rooms to 2 beds when my son flew in from CA. Great catering staff and food. Clean and comfortable.
Cons: A little dated and can be very expensive. My on-line rate with tax etc. was a reasonable $180. When I tried to add 1 night, they wanted $479! Needless to say, we went somewhere else.
Good7.4
Pros: We stayed in room #845 and liked the spaciousness of the room and the quietness of being in the back of the hotel. The room and maid service was very accommodating. Like the separation of the vanity from the shower/toilet.
Cons: The bathroom is somewhat dated.
Good6.0
Pros: Comfy bed, clean, good location.
Cons: Wireless Internet unusable. Even just casual surfing was painful. Don't even think about streaming video. Wired internet was plenty fast. Seems to be a wireless congestion issue. TV remote was VERY frustrating. Anything other than standing directly in front of the TV from about 3 feet away and the remote wouldn't work. The heater in my room did not work, just blew cold air. Rooms are tiny...don't seem like great value for the price. ($300/day average for one week's stay).
Good6.0
Pros: The location
Cons: Even the website saying parking was included, i guess when you book a reservation trough expedia or another website parking is not included.... they ripped me off 40 bucks when the week before it was included... Shady

Pros: Location is great. Staff was pleasant. We stayed during an unforseen mandatory power outage but the hotel made sure to provide us with accommodations to make up for the inconvenience.
Cons: Parking was super expensive but it seems this is the norm for this area.

Great hotel. Nothing negative to say at all. Great location, facilities, and staff

Pros: The best part of this hotel is the location. With children at GWU, it's the perfect place to stay to be close to campus, restaurants, and other Washington adventures. The beds and pillows were comfy.
Cons: I didn't care for the smell of smoke coming in to the bathroom through the fan that ran constantly or tj e broken dial on the heat lamp in the bathroom so that it did not turn off automatically, I asked the gentleman at the front desk about dirty drips on the bathroom floor, the big smear on the bathroom wallpaperor. He said the housekeeping manager was there at the time and he would send her up. No one showed up before I checked out the following day. The 6" x 9" steam/burn on the carpet in the bedroom was also a big eyesore. I also didn't like being evacuated by a false fire alarm at 7 AM.
Excellent8.2
Pros: The rooms were a very good size, had separate living and sleeping space, and a kitchenette. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The best part was it's proximity to the Foggy Bottom metro stop, which put all of DC within reach. Otherwise it's only about a 20 minute walk to reach the monuments at the end of the mall.
Cons: Parking costs extra, and street parking Is near impossible
Excellent8.6
Pros: Great location and price. Very nice staff. Rooms are okay...nothing fancy but for value, good enough.
Cons: Wifi is very unreliable and does not work great. There are no rental movies available. Sometimes, you just want to stay inside and chill. Here, you need to watch network TV.
Excellent10.0
Pros: I really like the staff there and the fruits, candy and maps prepared for us. It's 15 minites walk to the white house. Location is beatiful and convinient.
Cons: It was a little bit noisy at night because someone next door or above was talking. The noise cancelling was not that good.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Staff was VERY helpful, cheerful, and knowledgeable.
Cons: The only problem was a dance competition that was held nearby. When the competitors arrived at 2:00am it was a bit noisy.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Large room and friendly helpful staff. Good location.
Cons: Could hear talking in adjacent rooms and people in upstairs room were very noisy. Called staff and it stopped briefly but then resumed. ALso noisy in courtyard below. Needs nightlight in bathroom; long hallway and an odd room with nothing but a refrigerator and microwave in it between bedroom and bathroom. Cost of parking was very expensive.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The rooms were clean and large, large desk. The staff is outstanding.
Excellent8.5
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. One of them remembered me from just one short phone conversation and encouraged me to do well on my interview. They are very hospitable and professional. The room was much bigger than I expected and very comfortable. The complimentary wi-fi worked well and the bed was very comfy too.
Cons: The only problem I had is with the bathroom sink. When I first got there it wouldn't run any hot water, not even lukewarm. No matter which way I turned the knob it was still very cold. I asked for maintenance and someone came up right away. The problem was that the shower hadn't been run in a long time. Fortunately the shower had no problems getting warm. But even after taking a nice hot shower the sink water still didn't get much better than lukewarm. Other than that, everything was great!
Excellent9.1
Pros: The facilities, furniture, and furnishings are a bit older, but you get room to spread out in, the location is excellent, and the price is relatively inexpensive. It was great for a group visiting DC to explore all the wonderful sights to see.
Cons: We had absolutely no complaints!
Excellent10.0
Pros: The room was spacious.the parking is convenient.the employees were very friendly and looked very clean.
Cons: The people in the room next to us playing the guitars and talking loud with the tv on after one o'clock in the morning.
Good7.7
Pros: We loved that the hotel was within walking distance to the Kennedy Center and the Mall. The staff was wonderful, but occasionally there would be a line at the desk so a second person would have been nice. Parking is done by a valet for $40 a day. They went out of their way to make it convenient for us especially when we were in a hurry. One of the desk staff actually walked us to the Metro stop when we asked how to get there. How much better can it get!
Cons: I would have liked it if they had a restaurant, even a small one, on site. Breakfast would be awesome but I'm not sure they have the room. The hallways were badly overheated and the room was too so we actually opened the window at night to be comfortable.
Excellent8.8
Excellent9.6
Pros: The front office staff was very knowledgeable of the area and provided great assistance with public transportation.
Excellent9.4
Pros: We all enjoyed staying at the hotel. The location was convenient and the reception area personnel were very accomodating.
Cons: We all felt that the breakfast was too expensive, for what was offered. Also, the service was awful.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The location next to Foggy Bottom metro line. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the hotel was set back a bit from the road with a seating area.
Cons: The seating area outside was dominated by smokers. There was a mild mildew smell in the room
Excellent8.0
Pros: Very friendly staff. Visit dc a lot and staff were nicest I've come across
Cons: Bathroom could do with upgrading
Excellent10.0
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, and large rooms with kitchen inside.

Pros: Location & Staff
Cons: Run down A/C didn't work Parking was $40.00 + $7.50 (Tax)
Excellent9.7
Pros: Staff was amazing and attentive, location great
Cons: Could use some updating
Excellent10.0
Pros: Location, staff, adjustable fan in the room (quiet AC).
Good7.3
Pros: Great location. Air conditioning Front desk removed parking charge. Free wireless
Cons: Pair of men's underwear found in closet upon arrival. Iron was broken; housekeeping replaced immediately. Could hear talking from adjacent room. Cost of parking was very expensive; cost was NOT detailed in Kayak's description or when booking room.
Excellent10.0
Pros: We thought the staff was very accommodating. They were very quick to respond to our requests. Personable and professional! From the desk clerks (Bryn and Brian) to the bellman and valet.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Very comfortable, clean, great location. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Bathroom was a good size for one person but was a little small for a couple. Plenty of room and plenty of closet space. There is an exercise room but I did not have the time to use it on this visit.
Cons: Not as much counter space as I would like in the bathroom.
Excellent10.0
Pros: To begin, the location is second to none. 2 minutes away from the metro. And all the main DC sites are within minutes using the metro. Staff was also great, every morning there was lemon water and apples available for guests to start their day. Ultimately, the place was amazing, no complaints from my side, very clean, very tidy, and comfortable.

Pros: Everything about my stay at The Watergate was top notch. The hotel and rooms really are as nice as in the pictures. Most hotels never seem to be as they present themselves. The Watergate, however, does NOT disappoint! Opening my room door for the first time felt as if I was walking into the photos themselves. The staff are incredible. There was an unforeseen issue with my flight coming into town, making me a day late. A simple 2 minute phone call to the hotel (no BS wait times) to give them a heads up was all it took. Upon arrival the next day, the very first person I interacted with had full knowledge of my situation, knew me by name, and already had my room key in-hand. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Can't beat the location (a short walk and I was at the White House) and the restaurant downstairs (Kingbird) is phenomenal. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Good7.1
Pros: Staff was great. Friendly and helpful.
Cons: Hotel is older and in need of some updates.
Good7.7
Cons: Experienced late check-in - room wasn't ready for 2 hours. Limited hot water. Location not convenient for tourist activities, although okay for Georgetown.

Pros: Very clean! No issues there at all. And I got a first hand look as I was vomiting into the toilet of our room.
Cons: Smelling drugs being smoked. The all inclusive, but not at all inclusive package. Over charged and having to argue about the charges at the front desk in front of other patrons rather than to the side. Getting sick from cross contamination of foods.
Excellent9.4
Pros: This hotel is located near the Foggy Bottom/Dupont Circle neighborhoods and is close to the Foggy Bottom Metro Blue line. This makes it easy to get around town and see the tourist sites. The hotel feels brand new and is very clean and nice. Breakfast is great.
Cons: Would have been more convenient to be a little closer to tourist areas, but this was a nice compromise because of the lower cost.

The service was terrible and the staff was argumentative. Worst business experience we have ever had. We checked out early and got another hotel incurring 2x the cost for the trip. When we first checked in the room smelled like smoke. The front office guy was super nice and immediately accommodated us and put us in a different and larger room. This is great customer service
Excellent10.0
Pros: The hotel was very nice and extremely close to all the sites (just blocks from the White House). The room, service, and location were far above what I would expect for the price. Would stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting the DC area.
Okay4.2
Pros: Excellent location for much of downtown DC.
Cons: Around Midnight my room filled with old cigarette smoke as someone began smoking in the stairwell. The air quality overall in my particular room was poor, requiring the windows to be opened as much as possible. This of course made it difficult to sleep as the city sounds in DC near The White House are loud and replete with sirens 24/seven. Normally, one might cover one's ears to have silence. However, at this hotel the pillows are the size for small children.
Good6.0
Pros: Spacious room with super comfortable bed.
Cons: No warning for the loud construction noise just outside our bed window at 6:30 am Sunday and then 5:30 Monday am. When we complained the front desk said nothing could be done.
Excellent8.0
Pros: It's a great location behind the white house but I wish they'd offered a free breakfast
Cons: at least letting us know they're going to be replacing AC units on the roof and not having to look at a giant crane truck the next morning
Okay4.6
Pros: The room was made up in typical Hilton style with decent bedding/bathroom stuff.
Cons: This hotels has seen better days. One of the elevators was out of service (seemingly for a long time - a piece of tape covering the outside) the button to the elevator was cracked, and the whole thign was worryingly slowly and creaky. The room itself smelled musty - like it hadn't been aired out in years. Outside the window was the HVAC system which was *loud*. It was a crazy-horrible room. My best guess is that because Kayak booked the room through Priceline Hilton felt it was okay to give me the worst room they could find. I checked out immediately and went to another hotel nearby for the same price, but with a much nicer room and hotel in general.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Room. Cleanliness. Privacy.
Good6.0
Pros: Location
Cons: Room wasn't clean. Carpet smelt like cigarette. They charged me for parking that I did not use.
Excellent9.6
Pros: Staff amazing and SO CLOSE to Everything! Also, very easy to Metro and DCA.
Excellent8.8
Pros: Friendly, attentive staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Location is within walking distance of many places to eat and a short ride from the national mall. Would stay again.
Cons: Very cold lobby/restaurant/bar area. Thermostat in room kept malfunctioning. The maintenance guy brought us a space heater at one point. Requested shampoo at one point and three different staff people delivered some three separate times. Very friendly, but obviously some lack of communication. Staff was very apologetic about the thermostat and offered us a variety of comps.
Excellent10.0
Pros: This is a luxury hotel for an unbelievable price. The hotel is centrally located to about everything you want to see or do. What first caught our attention is the fact that you can look down the street and see the White House just a few short blocks away. Yes, there are a lot of hotels in Washington D.C., but if you are looking for a GREAT hotel at an unequaled price, this is it. This would be our first choice when returning to Washington DC.
Cons: There was nothing not to like about this hotel.
Excellent10.0
The room was big and very clean. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom was very nice. Location of the hotel is perfect; very close to several different Metro lines. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel, so I can't comment on the food. All in all, we had no complaints, and a wonderful stay.
Excellent8.2
Pros: Friendly helpful staff in downtown DC.
Cons: The air conditioning in the room wasn't very good. It didn't feel like it dropped below 70F while set to 60F in November.
Excellent8.0
Pros: It was right downtown near the white house and monuments, so we could walk everywhere
Cons: Everything closes down so it's hard to find a late night restaurant or pharmacy
Excellent8.0
Pros: The room was excellent. Staff very courteous, friendly and helpful.
Cons: I thought the cost for overnight parking at $59.00 was high for a guest in the hotel
Excellent9.4
Pros: Location
Excellent9.7
Pros: The staff was excellent, friendly and welcoming! Great location, clean and very spacious room. Will definitely book again when back in DC!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent10.0
Pros: Staff very helpfil. Close to DC metro and attraction
Excellent8.0
Cons: I did not like the fact I had to pay valet for parking or find my own. I feel if I m paying for the comfort of staying out of town then that is something that should be included.

Pros: We went to DC to celebrate my husband's birthday for a long weekend. We looked for a long time online and a lot of the offering was overpriced for the amenities available. The Club Quarters was a great find!!!! The staff was very helpful throughout our stay. There is an espresso bar on the 2nd floor!! We were a few blocks from all the greatest attractions, walked to every site. Never had to take a cab or the Metro. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will come back. We found a gem in D.C. and will be recommending it to our family and friends.
Excellent8.2
Pros: The location 24 hr coffee station clean rooms
Cons: Small room configured & supplied for the single business traveler. One bath towel 4 the family.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Location is excellent
Cons: I paid $15 extra (a "discount") for a "Jr. Suite" with only one queen bed that seemed as big or smaller than a standard room.
Excellent8.5
Pros: The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I stepped through the door with my 12 year old. I detest the hold hotels put on your credit card and don't release for days and was told I could pay the $50 incidental in cash (which I received back at checkout before the housekeeper had even cleaned the room). The room was indeed small with only 1 bed which would have been a problem if I hadn't been traveling with family. However, it was clean, along with the bathroom. I did whack my elbow against the wall as I was showering as the stall was a bit cramped. We received great instructions on how to make our way to the White House and monuments - - all within walking distance. We finished our running around a bit early so we took advantage of the 2nd floor lounge for about a half hour before heading back to Union Station. There was an industrial coffee/espresso/cappuccino maker, tea bags, newspapers, a big screen tv set to CNN, a charging station, computers etc. The rooms are too small for friends to convene comfortably so the lounge is a nice spot. Convenience: A block away from the Circulator, a block away from the Farragut North and Farragut West station (it is actually on top of the Farragut West station, however, the entrance is closed so it's necessary to walk to the other side a block down). The complimentary bottled water saved us some money and we surely took advantage.
Cons: The shower was uncomfortably small for a tall lanky person like me. Whacking my elbow against the wall isn't something I expect to happen in a hotel (usually hotel bathrooms are more comfy than my micro bathroom at home in NYC). Also, the room did not have a mini fridge which would have been nice for our leftovers. The hotel is downtown so the area at night is sparse (still feels safe though). You'll need to take a little walk to find some good breakfast if you set out early on a weekend because the nearby places are either never open on the weekends or only open closer to 9 am.
Excellent8.2
Pros: This is a great hotel, simple and convenient. The rooms are small, but quiet and the location is perfect. Right next to the metro and near the White House and mall.
Cons: A little small... but otherwise great.
Excellent9.4
Pros: We were in DC to visit our son at GWH. Clean and efficient. Perfect location to the occasion.
Cons: The bed could have been positioned 90° to the 8' room width.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Well maintained older hotel convenient to restaurants and tourist attractions. Nice linens and towels. Great cocktail lounge. Friendly and welcoming service.
Cons: Street noise; will bring earplugs next time.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The location is tremendous! I loved being able to hop onto the metro and get to all of the tourist locations/museums around D.C. It is only a 5-7 minute walk to the White House from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and will try to accommodate you with anything you may need. The price of the hotel was superb considering the location, amenities (free pop/snacks in the lounge), and the atmosphere the hotel creates for travelers. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to D.C.!
Good6.2
Pros: Location, convenience
Cons: Rooms are dated, small and dark
Excellent8.2
Good6.2
Pros: Cleaness
Cons: I paid over 200 dollars for calling home international for less than 30mts.... And yet no one explained to me the fee of using the phone.. . I had no budget for that. .. . It was bad

Pros: This hotel is the same every time I go excellent...I really love the little relaxation area near the escalators and bar. I also loved how clean it was...will definitely be staying here again...,it's perfect because it's only a 5min or so minute uber ride from like DuPont and Adams Morgan
Cons: I didn't care for how high parking garage was it cost $40 dollars for parking so needless to say I didn't park (just parked on the street....also didn't really like how far the ice machine was lightyears away from the room be
Excellent10.0
Pros: Location to sites and local food
Cons: No real room service for late food needs
Good6.6
Pros: Location
Cons: The corridors were not clean. Even when someone was working in the rooms close to the problem, no one cleaned the mess.
Mediocre2.0
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Got there and they sent me to room that was already taken, and then they had to send me to another hotele
Excellent8.0
Pros: Clean, friendly and best price for one night stay in downtown dc. Good quality and quiet room. Large hotel with lots of amenities for business travel.
Cons: Small beds in the room, more like a double. I didn't order wifi because of the cost. So ridiculous to charge for internet! Bar was alright. Location is good. Probably won't stay again unless no other option. Too expensive and very busy.
Excellent9.1
Pros: The staff (especially in the Executive Lounge) was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Our bed was very comfortable, the view was fantastic, and everything seemed up to date. We somehow snagged this Hilton Honors room and the frree wi-fi through Kayak. The location is on the edge of a residential neighborhood and a bunch of restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: There were a couple of hairs in the shower, but nothing too shocking. Parking overnight and hourly was so expensive that we had to search for street parking. Free wifi was only available in public spaces. Some of the facilities were closed (due to winter) or accessible only by Hilton Honors.
Excellent9.4
Pros: The price was lower because the hotel is under construction so the price was cheaper. Room was very nice, bed was soft, bathroom was nice, and location was great.
Cons: The layout is arkward because of the construction.
Good7.1
Pros: Great location. Numerous amenities at the hotel
Cons: Painfully slow check in process. The hot water in the morning ran from nonexistent to very low pressure. I understand m the water pressure is due to construction of the building next-door
Okay5.7
Cons: No room when we checked in at 6. Offered us a $50 voucher but did not provide it to us
Excellent9.3
Cons: It's 2014 and this hotel charges for wifi in the room. This is nothing more than a way to hose the customer and a clear signal to seek out a differnet hotel in the future.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Location was great. Room was large and comfortable
Cons: At times appeared very crowded and busy, like being in a railway station. Cars often piled up outside main entrance, not allowing taxi to approach
Good6.2
Pros: The hotel was nice. The rate was great and the room was clean and accommodating.
Cons: The room charge was the only thing that was reasonable. $57 to park one night. A parfait, egg sandwich and one drink $26. I realize it's D.C. But everything seemed like a shakedown.
Excellent8.0
Pros: The Hilton was a great location hotel, really clean and comfortably place.
Cons: The room was reallly small for be a two doulble bed room for 4 persons. We were 3 and was a little tight.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The cozy room.
Cons: That parking is expensive luckily I always get parking spot in the street.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Good service, clean room, good amenities downstairs (coffee shops, bars, restaurants, convenient taxi services, convenient concierge services)
Cons: Do not like how you have to pay $13 for internet in your room. When Holiday Inn Express and Days Inn offer complementary internet, it's inexcusable that a hotel of respectable stature, such as the Hilton, does not offer complementary internet in the hotel rooms.
Good6.5
Pros: Nice beds.
Cons: You have to pay for wifi. The handicap accessible shower was confusing to figure out and i nearly flooded the bathroom with it. And only single ply toilet paper? What kind of savagery is this?!
Mediocre3.4
Pros: Breakfast was pretty decent, though standard.
Cons: Understaffed at front desk, toilet overflowed, and charged for undisclosed pet fee (booked via OTA).
Okay4.0
Pros: Semi-Simple location, decent value,
Cons: Parking, the hotel advertises parking yet did not have any available.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Upon telling the desk clerk and manager at check-in that I had honeymooned at this hotel almost 47 years ago, they expressed genuine delight and immediately offered me a complimentary service. The following morning when I needed help with the timing of a couple of things, I discovered that the word about my stay had spread and a second manager took care of me with very attentive service. It's wonderful that a large, old hotel in a big city understands the importance of making the individual guest feel special.
Excellent10.0
Pros: HHonors use of lounge; free wireless. Cold Breakfast in HHonor's Lounge was good. Evening cookies in HHonors lounge.
Cons: Cost of parking at $36/night and charges for alcoholic drinks and sparkling water in HHonors lounge
Excellent9.4
Pros: Pool
Cons: No fridge in room. No charging station for iPhone.
Located in Dupont Circle, this hotel is within a 15-minute walk of White House and Phillips Collection. National Museum of Women in the Arts and Walter E. Washington Convention Center are also within 1 mi (2 km). Farragut North Station is 6 minutes by foot and Farragut West Station is 8 minutes.
Cons: Walls are made out of paper. I could hear every word the people next door said. They were up all night so I did not sleep. Contacted the reception two times about it.
