Cons: "Nothing. This company deserves its reputation for excellence."
Pros: "great food, staff and service. I like it when i can brush my teeth on a over night flight with disposable tooth brush and tooth paste."
Cons: "Flight delay communication could be better. There were some major confusions between the gates on where my flight was going to land and departure until it was finally announced that flight was delayed."
Cons: "Boarding in New York could have been better organized"
Pros: "Flight attendants are so courteous and professional!"
Cons: "Great flight!"
Pros: "Quick flight"
Cons: "Air on the plane was stuffy"
Cons: "Check in and apps stuck in 80'"
Pros: "Spacious leg room."
Cons: "The food is average. Could be much better. Eg, serve eggs like omelette for Breakfast. Only one choice . The other choice could be Jap menu vi differing it’s s Japanese airline. Flew JAL 2 yrs ago too. Food was not good. Also , toilets could be cleaner. There’s always a pungent smell."
Pros: "The service are great!"
Pros: "The service was excellent"
Cons: "Food needs improvement"
Cons: "The fact that my father was diagnosed with Cancer and they wouldn’t refund our 1300.00 for round trip tickets to the Philippines which is our vacation home. The airline required documentation from my fathers doc which I provided. He was not going anywhere for at least a year (radiation and chemo) and the denied even credit.I was able to get my parents tickets refunded by a different airline. NEVER Again. my father passed 8/12/2018. Our trip was scheduled for 9/13/2018. Very disappointing.see"
Pros: "Our flight was delayed due to lightning strike on arriving flight, we were transferred to non stop EVA Airline so we can get home and not need a connecting flight in Japan. JAL did all these arrangements without us requesting it. They also were very polite and got our luggage in time to be on the flight with us. JAL is truly a top airline in the world."
Pros: "Excellent service - delicious meals"
Pros: "Wonderful crew!"
Pros: "Roomy seats on JAL flights - their actual airplanes. Horrible when they codeshare with american and use American Airlines planes."
Cons: "They have to take the prize for having the absolute slowest customer service in the world. When I booked my tickets, I emailed customer service to make sure I didn’t get a center seat. It took them two months - TWO MONTHS - to email me back, to tell me there was nothing they could do. I also had to be reticketed on my flight from Tokyo to Hanoi. It took them 3 1/2 hours to do this. I had to sit in the airport for 3 1/2 hours to get my ticket changed. Unbelievable. They could’ve chiseled it in stone faster than they issued it."
Pros: "Incredibly nice staff made you forget about the older plane model you are in. Decent airplane meals and the nonstop from San Diego makes Japan now a frequent destination for us! I lucked out with 3 open adjacent seats roundtrip woo hoooo!"
Cons: "Movie selection was the same on return flight which was a bit of a bummer."
Pros: "Very comfortable plane, even full. Polite crew."
Pros: "Still, love JAL's customer service from the cabin crew. The flight attendants are always friendly, courteous and professional. They do a great job of meeting and exceeding passengers expectations"
Cons: "The cabin area was extremely warm; at one point, I had to take out the safety card and fan myself. There was no explanation why the approximately 5-hour flight was uncomfortably warm. During the flight, I woke up from a sound sleep because of the heat in the cabin."
Pros: "everything, the courtesy of the entire crew, the way they show care and respect and compassion to the passengers especially the seniors"
Cons: "flight delays"
Pros: "Friendly crew members and prompt service."
Cons: "Some seats were noisy. When passengers moved it would make creaking sounds so very hard to relax or sleep on the flight. Row 23/24 area left side."
Pros: "Service was polite and efficient"
Cons: "Vegetarian food very difficult to book on JAL. Unlike most other major airlines they don't offer a vegetarian option routinely on their menus. Both I and another passenger who flew JAL the weekend before found the vegetarian food poor - very bland and too salty. The exact same menu all four times we flew. A pity as the rest of the service wa excellent. If JAL wishes to attract more international customers it would be a good idea for it to broaden its global perspective and provide better vegetarian options. I know others who've had similar concerns about other types of special meal."
Pros: "prompt check in , ample baggages allowances, food and overall steward services."
Pros: "Service was amazing and made me feel like I was in first class."
Cons: "The food wasn't good and the seats seemed outdated relative to other JAL flights I have taken on this route."
Pros: "Service from cabin attendants was excellent, specially the crew announcing up coming turbulence, foods, landing. Price is good as well."
Cons: "No big deal, I don't care some of the food, smells fishy. Like I said no big deal, still using Japan Airlines."
Pros: "This flight was just pretty routine."
Cons: "I wasn't able to make my original flight but that was more the airport's fault so I had to take a later flight and didn't get a choice seat. Tight quarters."
Pros: "Japan airport is big and too much shopping needs to be done, and liked the fact that boarding started just 15 minutes before departure which gave me ample amount of time."
Cons: "Movie selection wasn't the greatest. The mid-flight meal was a burger instead of the beloved ramen."
Pros: "Comfortable plane, good service"
Pros: "Great service. Great seat."
Pros: "Excellent customer service!"
Pros: "I liked that the seats were a 2-4-2 configuration. Most American carriers will have a 3-5-3 seating configuration. JAL has won some prestigious seat awards in 2015 for innovation and comfort."
Cons: "The JAL website specified most trans-atlantic flights with the newer and more spacious seating in Premium Economy. Departing from San Diego, this was only an option once a year I was told at the check in counter. I was counting on extra width and legroom as I am 270 lbs and 73" tall. I was disappointed that these up-gradable seats were not available. I also did not like that we sat on the Oksaka tarmac at a divert airport from Narita (Tokyo) and were not given an option to leave the plane and find alternate transportation of our choice to get us to our destination. I understand the high winds and bad weather was not allowing us to land on time, but we sat on the tarmac for 2 1/2 hours and then left to fly into Narita 5 hours late."
Pros: "Service N crew n entertainment."
Cons: "We couldn't land in Narita due to bad weather, so we did emergency landing to Haneda to refuel and go back to Narita. But after we got off in Narita, the immigration is chaos. Nobody arranging it and people just going wild, nobody knows where the line should begin. We spent 2 hours plus in the imigration line. So from the scheduled time to arrive at Tokyo 5pm, we get to our Hotel at 2am. Good job Narita airport!"
Pros: "A sense of quiet efficiency. On time and courteous."
Pros: "This complaint is more targeted at American Airlines, which handled the New York Washington leg of the trip. They provided free food such as sandwiches and drinks at the gate due to the 2 hour delay."
Cons: "Red eye flight delayed for 2 hours. Then delayed another hour on the runway. No in-flight enternmaint, which would have made it bearable. Descent into Washington Reagan National freaked me out because the plane was flying eratically while being so close to the ground and recognizable landmarks."
Pros: "Excellent service--excellent food (ice cream included in coach)."
Cons: "Loved everything."
Pros: "Food was good, entertainment was plentiful. One of the best flights I've ever been on."
Cons: "Not a big deal, but I needed to borrow a pen and the flight staff hardly had any."
Pros: "Japan Airlines is far more spacious than all domestic airlines. The food and beverage options were comparable to most airlines like Delta, United, etc, but presentation was better so they get style points. Their wifi connectivity was far better than Gogo's services, which is the provider for most domestic airlines. The real improvement compared to most my travel was the level of service. The staff was incredibly attentive."
Cons: "Still waiting for the day wifi at 30k feet is comparable in speed to at least a public cafe. Also, when will one of these airlines start providing balanced meal options that are actually palatable. JAL's food was okay, but heavy on starches and fats with low quality protein or vegetables to accompany them."
Pros: "I really liked my experience with JAL. The comfort and overall service of the flight was excellent."
Pros: "Overall service was excellent."
Cons: "There are small metal boxes under the from seats in coach which resulted in less leg room. For such a long flight to have leg room limited even more than normal was quite uncomfortable."
