Excellent value for a budget airline
Layout and space in emergency exit row.
The worst kind of budget airline. To be honest....the plane was not that bad. Would have been good to have some food choices and some water. What was by far the worse is the passengers/customers that this airline attracts. Coughing and spluttering all over one another with no masks. Just disgusting. Pay for a better carrier and get a better class of passenger.

Then my second leg of my vacation trip, again, delayed and they just had us standing in line waiting to board our flight. Again I give praise to the wonderful crew members for the stellar and comforting service. They truly are the reason I have not given up on AirAsia just yet. Now I do have one leg left, my tip home...I’m hoping that this one will be the overall best experience for my AirAsia. I’m praying for an on time departure, and another wonderful staff and just a tiny bit more leg space. Wish me luck"

If AsiAsia are going to keep to this 7kg hardline they really need to do it across all airports and do it during the document check so the number of queues costumers are subjected to are minimized. I did purchase extra weight when purchasing the ticket however that weight MUST be in checked bags only. No margin here for discussion. Perhaps HotSeat passengers are less scrutinized??? This all may be just some transitional pains here and other airlines may follow the same model but in my 200+ flights on Nok Air this has NEVER happened. In fact, they (Nok) have NEVER weighed my carry on bag. Such a shame as the rest of the flight experience was above average. This hardline approach will be an issue if they continue until they beat their customers into taking or leaving it in my opinion. First AirAsia flight for me so the vets reading this will be smiling quietly to themselves ;-)"

If you want to check in a second luggage you have to check in 4 hours ahead and you still have to pay a lot of money, and it is based on the weight of your luggage . If you don't check in 4 hours in advance and you have an extra suitcase, they charge you by the kilogram and it is ridiculously expensive. More than he cost of the entire flight! And if your flight has multiple legs, you have to pay for the extra luggage every single leg."

They wouldn’t check us in thru to Siem Reap when we were in Luang Prabang, so when we tried to go through transit in Bangkok, the Air Asia agents sent us back to enter Thailand. We had to go through passport control, go up to arrivals and wait in the huge, chaotic lines ( why does AA always have chaotic limes?) and check in again. We then had to go back through immigration and security inspections. Even the immigration and exit officials were questioning why we didn’t go in transit! Took us two hours and lots of extra walking. I only fly Air Asia when I have to, and always think they will have gotten better, but they never do."

If I need to go to the airline to "check" that YOU didn't forget to tell me something then what the hell is the point of using your service?! I had to pay 144 dollars, more than a single ticket!"
Pros: "We paid extra for the quit zone seats and we ended up having having the row to ourselves. Unlike the other reviews I am seeing we were not charged an excess baggage fee and were over by five kilos. The seats were fairly comfortable but again we had the whole row to ourselves."

I did not even ask how much I would pay if my single check in bag were over 20 kg. Obviously, if you have any check in bag you pay at least a double price for your flight. Leg space is designed for slim and trim Asians, all others who don't fit this description have problems."

Knowing it's a waste of her time she hid the scissor underneath a piece of paper and answered me that she didn't have one. I pointed it to her, she claimed that it wasn't hers. Long story short, I demanded another agent for help."

Cons: "I tried paying for checked baggage while checking in online, but the website would always ignore my checked baggage selections no matter which option I select - it just wouldn't add the checked baggage payment to the checkout. Then, when I was dropping off baggage I was charged $72 per small bag!!! This is offensive and ridiculous to charge $72 per 10Kg bag when their website isn't even allowing to prepay at a lower rate. This may have been OK if this was a low-coster with $50 flights, but this was a $500 ticket and I did not expect to pay another $144 for checking in bags. To make matters worse, we had 3 small bags and intended to check all 3 in, now we did not want to pay $216, so we took one of the bags with us and of course had to part with the christmas presents that we wrapped for each other at the security line. We also paid for "hot seat" - this is yet another rip off. Hot seat does not add extra legroom, no extra comfort, just an earlier boarding time, so that you can spend more time in the stuffy cabin. Food and entertainment was not even present on the flight. You had to pre-purchase food to get any and none was sold on the flight, the didn't even offer a glass of water, not even for a fee."

Cons: "This is a budget airline. Very little leg room and even water is sold on the flight. The price for checked in luggage was ~70 US $ a piece, which reduced the benefit of inexpensive airfare."
