Pros:Staff was pleasant, cordial and helpful, which is not always a given in LA
Cons:That there is no equivalent program to Alamo's many competitors where I can get off the bus, get into a car marked with my name, and drive off. I tried obtaining my paperwork from a kiosk that refused to read my driver's license, so I was forced to go through the customer service desk. Then I found no child seat in the car and had to go back in to get one. No one told me I had to ask for it again after reserving it. Alamo's competitors always have it in the car and waiting when I check in online ahead of time.

Cons:We paid for full coverage insurance online prior to arrival in Costa Rica with Alliance insurance which was offered together online , only to find out when we arrived that Alamo doesn't accept Alliance Insurance so we had to purchase insurance through Alamo which was very expensive., and had to cancel the Alliance insurance. Also they didn't have the full size car we reserved. They also don't answer the Phone in Liberia Costa Rica, or if they do they hang up the second you start talking to them. Called several times and this happened repeatedly.

Cons:I paid for a mid size SUV. When I got there they told me I could take an upgrade to a full size SUV. That would have been nice but they only had 2 old ugly Jeeps and NO full size SUVS. So where was the upgrade?? I ended up taking a Ford Fusion that was a nice car but not what I had purchased. Secondly, I took the insurance that was suggested by you but when I got to Alamo they told me I shouldn't have bought that Crappy insurance and that it wouldn't cover loss of use so I ended up purchasing another insurance through Alamo. Not a great experience with Kayak or Alamo.

Cons:We have paid but didn’t get a car! They rented out from under us. We were a day late due to a reschedule implemented by American Airlines. When we called to tell them when we would be picking it up, the lady hung up on us twice, we couldn’t get thru several times and finally we got a hold of someone who told us they rented it and had no more cars available. We need this rental credited back to us. Thanks
