I was told when I arrived that because I booked the car less than two hours in advance, I had to wait two hours before I could take the car, even though that was after the time I had reserved and paid for. No where was this stated at the time of booking. They told me if I bought their insurance package for €59.29 I could take the car immediately at the time my reservation started. They also said they had no proof I had purchased other insurance. I would like Kayak to refund me the €59.29 because I was not informed nor did I agree to wait two hours or pay extra for the car. It was also extremely difficult to find the office and to locate the car. They did not give me any parking spot number and there were no staff in the basement to assist, so I just had to wander around looking for the car. The contactless charger in the car worked extremely poorly and even though it said my phone was charging on a slow charger, I was losing power. No one was there when I dropped the car off at 9:30pm even though they told me the office would be open when I returned at 10pm. The form I received this morning states that I returned the car at 8am today. That is incorrect. I dropped my time stamped garage entry ticket in the box with my keys as proof.

I arrived at airport. I had virtual international driver’s license which I had previously been told would be adequate. The person at counter was extremely rude and cancelled the rental. I’m still not sure if money was refunded. I was stranded in a foreign country. Luckily another company was happy to rent to me. You should not book this company

The car was overall good but had some onboard computer issues that did not resolve quickly. It was always an anxiety to wonder if we would be able to continue with this particular vehicle.

Bait and switch. Promised cheap rate then after waiting for over 30 minutes in line I was told it would be a two hour wait for a car or I could upgrade to an SUV to get out of there quicker. Ended up spending 3 times the original rate. Could have went with Enterprise for cheaper and would have been out of there quicker with a nicer car.

I had a disastrous experience with my car rental booked through KAYAK. Upon arriving to pick up the vehicle—which had been paid for in full weeks prior to the trip—I was informed that I had to be a U.S. citizen. Even worse, I was told the rental included no insurance coverage whatsoever, not even the basic minimum (which is impossible, as having insurance is a legal requirement). Since it was 11:00 PM and the EUROPCAR branch was closing, I was forced to purchase insurance with an excess, paying €122.99—double the cost of my original prepaid rental (€94.74). For this reason, I am requesting a refund of the €122.99 paid; nowhere in the contract was it stated that the reservation was restricted to U.S. citizens, nor was it indicated that the rental came without any insurance coverage. I look forward to hearing from you.

I arrived to pick up my car as I have done many times before and I could not find my driving licence- it transpires it was in my suitcase. the assistant would not hire3 me the car despite me offering him to check the DVLA site with my passport details to verify that i did have a full licence and No points. I was charged £176.00 and not even given a hire car and I will be contacting the CEO and You and your on BBC radio 4 -

They increased the price for the insurance at the counter. In case you don't want to pay for it, you gotta leave a voucher of $45000 for a $20000 brand new car.
