Pros:Staff was friendly.

Cons:I've used Mex/ace rent a car twice in the past without issue. However they recently started and innovative deceptive pricing practices. The booked with an outside third party and was quoted a total price of 54 dollars including all fees. When I arrived I was told you have a new policy (not stated on their website) and not car rental industry standard of requiring two credit cards to waive your overpriced insurance. No other car rental company requires this nonsense. Additionally my price was doubled. To top it off the vehicle I reserved was not available. This place is now a scam and is probably just trying to get take advantage of people not able to rebook due to time/hassle. This is not a sustainable or ethical business practice for the long term. Avoid like the plague

Pros:Staff was very friendly and helpful

Cons:They are not at the airport but the instructions on how to connect with the driver that took us to the car rental location close to the airport were clear and the process was quick and very professional

Pros:The staff was unfriendly and seemed annoyed that we were there to pick up a car. We reserved an economy but they didn’t have one so the guy said “we don’t have one but we have a midsize so we’ll give you that for $10 more” he went on to say he was doing us a favor. I said it wasn’t our fault that they ran out of economy cars and that we shouldn’t have to pay extra from our original quote. He simply said it was policy and that it was on their terms and conditions. I went on their website, which clearly stated that they would adhere to the original quote if they didn’t have the same class of car and would upgrade their customers at no extra cost. I showed him the website and he was upset. Thankfully his manager approved the upgrade but the agent was still clearly unhappy and said “I’ll do it this time but next time you’ll have to pay.” Which was rude and unnecessary—it wasn’t a favor, it was their own policy.

Cons:A more polite and professional agent to help us get the car. Also the gentleman who was there when we dropped off the car was helping 1 other person and he just said “just leave the keys in the car and I’ll email you the receipt”. Which didn’t give me much information. We didn’t do a walkthrough to inspect the car together and I was a bit worried that just leaving the car without a receipt would cause issues. When I asked if I could just wait for him to finish, he seemed irritated and said “you could but it might take a while and it’d be easier if you just left the keys”. I left the keys and received the invoice l, however both pickup and dropoff were not pleasant encounters.

Pros:Nothing. We didn’t end up renting from this place. They only had one van. The tires were worn out and when confronted by this fact, they yelled at us.
